Chapter 608 The Show Kept Getting Better
“Who said you can call her Grandma and my dad ‘Dad’? You don’t have the right!”
Brielle was the type who said exactly what she felt. She was spoiled and hot-tempered, but she didn’t know how to scheme.
Now she was so upset she was about to cry.
“Enough! Stop arguing. Brielle, you need to control your temper. You’re the young lady of Jordan Estate.
“If you keep acting this crazy and talking without thinking, you’re going to get into serious trouble!”
Cora was fed up and snapped, cutting her off.
“Grandma, how can you say that to me?” Brielle whined.
“I’m your grandma. I can’t even scold you now?”
“I…” Brielle felt even worse.
First, she felt like her grandma favored Amelia, and now it seemed like she was starting to favor this bastard daughter, too.
That made her feel anxious and bitter.
If she had known something this ridiculous would happen to her, she would rather her grandma favor Amelia than this disgusting bastard.
Back when Gianna was the Nygards’ adopted daughter, and Amelia cut ties with them, Brielle thought Amelia was narrow-minded.
But now that this drama happened to her, she suddenly understood how Amelia felt.
She could totally relate.
“Grandma, you don’t need to defend me. I know it’s hard for Brielle to accept this right now. I don’t blame her. I’ll still treat her like my little sister.”
Gianna had mastered the art of playing int and obedient during her time at the Nygard Residence,
Pulling the same act at the Jordan Estate was easy for her,
“Who’s your sister? Don’t flatter yourself!” Brielle snapped again, furious.
This time, Cora didn’t say anything.
But who was she?
She had run Jordan Estate for years and had seen everything. Gianna’s little tricks were nothing to her.
She glanced at Gianna calmly. There was no warmth in her eyes, just a sharp, judgmental stare, like she was watching a clown.
“Enough, everyone shut up,” Cora said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument. “Since everything is out in the open today, I’ll just be direct.
Or maybe the news would be too sudden, and Cora would be shocked or overwhelmed. That would’ve been normal.
But she never expected to be rejected so directly, with no room for negotiation at all.
“My mom … she suffered so much because of Dad. I grew up without a father. Now that we finally have a chance to be a real family, how can how can you say that?”
She tried to use her mom’s sacrifice and her sad story to tug at Cora’s heartstrings. Her eyes got all watery, looking like she was about to burst into tears. Anyone else might’ve felt bad for her.
But Cora just sat there, completely calm, like Gianna’s suffering had nothing to do with her.
“Suffered?” Cora let out a short, mocking laugh.
“She chose her path. Esmond was engaged back then. If she dared do what she did, she should’ve expected the consequences. As for you…”
She looked at Gianna again, her eyes sharp and cold. “It’s true you’re Esmond’s daughter. But the doors of Jordan Estate aren’t open to just anyone.
“We can’t afford that kind of embarrassment, and we don’t accept people with bad intentions.”
Brielle felt satisfied hearing that. She sneered and said, “Hear that? Stop grossing us out by calling him Dad and her Grandma. Shameless!”
Amelia was having the time of her life watching this. The show kept getting better.
Gianna thought she’d performed flawlessly. But in front of someone as experienced as Cora, every expression and move she made looked forced and fake.
