Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 1121

When Naomi Lowell finally opened her eyes, the harsh, sterile scent of antiseptics hit her instantly. The world around her was a blinding, pristine white.

Sitting right at her bedside was Maeve Vance.

She was in a hospital.

"How are you feeling?" Maeve asked, her voice laced with genuine concern.

Naomi felt entirely drained, her limbs heavy as lead. When she spoke, her voice was a rough rasp. "Not great. I think I might be sick. Maeve, what are you doing here?"

Maeve handed her a glass of warm water.

"You collapsed on the street. A good Samaritan brought you in," Maeve explained softly. "The doctors couldn't bypass your lock screen, but they saw our selfie on your wallpaper. Given that I'm somewhat of a public figure lately and happen to partner with this hospital, they assumed I was your emergency contact."

Naomi rubbed her aching temples, forcing a weak, teasing smile. "Well, I guess setting our photo as my background paid off."

Maeve didn't smile back. Her gaze was piercing, locked onto Naomi's face. "You're pregnant."

The faint smile froze on Naomi's lips, quickly replaced by sheer, blank shock.

"Who's pregnant?"

"You are," Maeve stated firmly.

Naomi blinked. "Whose is it?"

Maeve let out a dry, exasperated laugh. "If I said it was mine, would you believe me?"

Naomi certainly didn't believe it, and clearly, neither did Maeve.

"Naomi, what exactly has been going on with you lately?"

Maeve had sensed her best friend was hiding something for weeks. Despite her repeated questions, Naomi had deflected every time. And now, this—a secret pregnancy.

Seeing Naomi hesitate again, a dark realization suddenly dawned on Maeve.

"You've been keeping this a secret. Does this have something to do with Nancy Grover?"
