Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 412

Taking the bottle of water, he took a massive gulp.

His tone was absolutely resolute. "I am going to stay and watch Miss Vance finish this bet with my own two eyes."

Andres almost fell over from sheer frustration.

How had he never noticed before that Murray was such a stubborn blockhead?

Quinn burst out laughing, totally amused.

"Look at you, Maeve. You're so impressive you've actually picked up a hardcore fanboy."

Maeve shot Quinn a warning glare, a silent reminder to stop spouting nonsense.

Then she turned to Murray. "Are you absolutely sure you want to stay and watch?"

Murray nodded with a dead-serious expression. "If something goes wrong, I need to be here to protect Miss Vance."

As soon as he said it, he realized he had forgotten something.

He quickly added, "And Mr. Andres, of course!"

Andres was speechless.

As Murray's actual boss, had he really been relegated to an afterthought?

Maeve pulled two pieces of yellow paper from her pocket, laid them flat on her palm, and quickly drew two talismans with her spinning pen.

She handed one to Murray and the other to Hans, instructing them to keep the papers close to their bodies.

She added a quick reminder: "They only work for an hour. Once the hour is up, make sure you burn them."

The two happily accepted the talisman papers.

Whether it was a placebo effect or the talismans actually kicking in, the moment Murray shoved the paper into his pocket, the suffocating tightness in his chest vanished in a heartbeat.

In that instant, he was completely back to his normal, healthy self.

It was rare for Murray to get this excited.

"Miss Vance really can do anything! The effect of this talisman is unreal."

He patted his chest for everyone to see.

"A second ago, I felt like I was suffocating to death, and now I feel absolutely nothing."

Maeve was even more exasperated. "Did you forget? I'm the one who needs your protection."

An image flashed through Andres's mind of Maeve throwing herself into his arms to dodge a lightning strike.

It hit him then—the realization that despite her power, Maeve wasn't some untouchable goddess. She was human, and she needed someone in her corner just as much as anyone else.

While they were joking around and enjoying themselves, a sudden scream erupted from The Luminary Order's side.

The person screaming was none other than Ian Grover.

He had been working with Elijah to set up the mystic formation when a sparrow suddenly dropped from the sky, smacking him squarely on the head.

The sparrow might have been small, but falling from that height left a massive, red lump on Ian's forehead.

The impact was so hard that the bird was knocked out cold on the spot, and it honestly looked pretty brutal.

First, Murray coughing up blood, and now a sparrow dropping from the sky.

With all these bizarre events happening one after another, Andres had completely lost faith in The Luminary Order's abilities.

He stood up, walked over to The Luminary Order's group, and announced with a stone-cold expression, "Your time is up."
