Ian clutched his red, swollen forehead, completely at a loss for what to do.
He had been in The Mystic Order for a long time and had seen his fair share of incidents, big and small.
But a situation like today's? This was a first.
Based on the layout of the courtyard, the mystic formation. The Luminary Order had set up should have been flawless.
Yet the reality was that once all the energy-altering objects were placed in their designated spots, the environment had actually gotten worse.
It felt oppressive, suffocating, and incredibly uncomfortable, as if all the oxygen was being sucked out of the air.
The fish in the pond were going belly-up one by one.
An invisible yet overpowering stench of decay hung in the air, refusing to dissipate.
Faced with Andres's dark, stormy expression, Elijah felt a bit rattled.
"Mr. Andres, I think we need to completely rearrange the mystic formation for the courtyard."
With only half an hour left, he had to find the source of the dark energy, the core of the array, as quickly as possible.
Andres gave him absolutely no room to negotiate.
"The facts speak for themselves. The Luminary Order simply doesn't have the skills to fix this."
Sylvia found this outcome incredibly hard to swallow.
"I've set up mystic formations for countless homes and never encountered anything like this. This courtyard is full of too many unknown variables."
Quinn was so amused by Sylvia's excuse that he laughed out loud.
"The whole reason you were brought in to break the array and realign the energy in this courtyard. Otherwise, what are you even doing here?"
"And as I recall, Ms. Vance was the mystic originally tasked with securing this site today."
"You guys overestimated yourselves, showed up uninvited, and insisted on stealing someone else's job."
"I thought the people from The Luminary Order were a big deal, but looking at you now, you're nothing special."
Before today, he actually believed the rumors that Sylvia from The Luminary Order had some real talent.
Now he realized rumors were just that—rumors. Believing them was just a recipe for disappointment.
Being called out so publicly by Quinn made Sylvia's face flush bright red, then turn pale. She was absolutely mortified.
So, she shifted her questioning gaze to Maeve.
"Miss Vance, care to explain what exactly is going on here?"
