Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 487

To Audrey, this was an impossible task. Even the most brilliant minds in modern medicine couldn't milk another week out of this corpse. It was a pure fantasy.

Anyone with an ounce of medical knowledge could see the man was already hovering at death's door. If there were even a fraction of a percent chance of saving him, Team A wouldn't have thrown him out.

Maeve walked up to the bed, her eyes skimming the vitals on the monitors. Audrey wasn't exaggerating. The man was a lost cause.

Based on his current trajectory, squeezing another seven hours out of him would be a miracle, let alone seven days. His heart failure and prior infarctions were the immediate killers. Beyond his completely destroyed heart, his liver, kidneys, and lungs were all actively shutting down.

Wait. As Maeve studied his chart, a spark of intrigue flared in her chest. She had just discovered something incredibly fascinating about this dying man. Was this fate handing her a golden ticket?

Watching Maeve stare silently at the patient, Audrey gloated. "What's the matter, Miss Vance? Regretting your life choices yet?"

Out of all the genius-level researchers in Lab C, none of them could save him. Expecting a cocky college sophomore to crack the code was laughable.

Up in the penthouse executive suite of the Grover Group tower, Simon Grover was watching the entire scene unfold on a high-definition monitor. Sitting across from him, Connor Yates took a slow sip of his coffee.

"Are you regretting pushing her into this test, Boss?" Connor asked. "If she wanted to lead her own project, you should have just handed her a low-stakes one. If she nailed it, great. If she bombed, the lab wouldn't have suffered any real losses."
