Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 489

Maeve smoothly withdrew the needle, slipping it back into her pocket with a practiced flourish. "You don't need to know the formula. You just need to know one thing: as of this exact second, Subject 1152's life belongs to me."

In truth, she had just hit him with a massive, hyper-concentrated dose of adrenaline and cardiac stimulants. It would force his heart to keep beating for at least another twenty-four hours. As for the actual treatment plan, she needed to run some personal tests first.

Leaving Lab C behind, Maeve headed straight for her freshly repaired SUV. After a total mechanical overhaul, the vehicle handled like a dream, its performance upgraded to an entirely different league.

The moment she slid into the driver's seat, her phone buzzed with a text from Naomi Lowell: Files sent to your inbox. Take a look.

Maeve pulled up her email immediately. Attached was a single photograph of a sleazy-looking, middle-aged man, along with a name. A cold, mocking smirk touched her lips as she hit reply: Received.

She had barely pulled onto the main road when Andres called. "Are you done at the lab, Maeve? Want me to pick you up? What's the plan for tonight?"

Maeve's brain was already running a million calculations on how to save her dying patient. "I just left the Grover Group building. I'm heading to The Quiet Garden right now. Don't worry about picking me up, Whitty, and don't wait up tonight. I'll probably be pulling an all-nighter at the estate. Get some sleep. Bye."

Before he could even respond, she hung up. A thrill of pure adrenaline coursed through her veins. She never expected a casual trip to Lab C would drop the missing puzzle piece right into her lap. Hitting the gas, she sped toward The Quiet Garden, desperate to dive back into her research.

She nodded. "Exactly. That prototype was the size of a tic-tac, but the Revive Elixir I extracted from it literally gave Murray his life back. You're a smart man. You know exactly what kind of door that opens."

Maeve locked her SUV with a click of her key fob. "I've been analyzing the chemical breakdown of that prototype for weeks, but the data is always incomplete. I've known for a while that if I could just get my hands on one of the original human test subjects from the Undying Project, it would blow this whole case wide open."

Her voice hitched with undeniable excitement. "And guess what? Lab C just handed me one on a silver platter. I didn't just find him—I managed to scrape some fresh DNA samples while I was there."

While plunging the adrenaline into Subject 1152's arm, she had swiftly and discreetly extracted a blood sample. Her suspicions had already been aroused by his chart. Biologically, the man should have succumbed to his multitude of fatal diseases months ago. Yet he was miraculously clinging to life, catching the attention of Lab C's elite Team A.
