Andres let out a sudden, amused chuckle.
His laughter only deepened Nolan's hostility.
"What are you laughing at?"
Andres sat back in a single armchair, looking entirely at ease.
Ignoring Nolan's indignant expression, he raised his glass and downed the liquid in one smooth motion.
His calm, unflappable demeanor formed a stark contrast to Nolan's righteous fury.
He set the glass down, crossed his long legs, and leaned lazily against the back of the chair.
"Mr. Nichols, before you turn into an emissary of justice and launch an attack on me, did you even bother to ask for the whole story?"
Nolan fired back, "Miss Mendoza made it very clear just now. She accidentally offended your woman, which brought upon your ruthless retaliation."
Andres's smile grew even more reckless.
"Oh, really? Then did you ask this lady exactly when and under what circumstances she offended my woman?"
Nolan scoffed.
"Is there any need to ask such a pointless question?"
"All I know is that your woman is fragile and dramatic, running to complain the second she suffers the slightest grievance."
"Men's issues should be solved by men, and women's issues by women."
"As a grown man, stepping in to interfere with women's conflicts—aren't you afraid of becoming a global laughingstock?"
Nolan turned back to Nevaeh.
"Miss Mendoza, if you have any grievances, just say them out loud. We'll all stand up for you."
Nevaeh hid behind Nolan, too afraid to step forward.
To be precise, she didn't dare look Andres in the eyes.
This entire charade had been orchestrated for her by Landon Hart.
Benjamin Bright was a terrifying tyrant.
The prideful Nolan still harbored a deep-seated grudge against Andres over the incident.
The fact that Nolan became a fan of Nevaeh had a lot to do with her appearance.
Nevaeh bore a strong resemblance to the girl who had rejected Nolan all those years ago.
Landon had reminded Nevaeh that as long as she secured a connection with the Nichols family, all the resources she had lost would come flooding back.
That was how this whole dramatic scene came to be.
Of course, Nevaeh didn't dare reveal a single word of these hidden details.
She was an actress, and she knew exactly what expressions to make to draw sympathy from the crowd.
Gently tugging on Nolan's sleeve, Nevaeh softened her voice to a timid whisper.
"This is a personal grudge between me and Mr. Andres. Mr. Nichols, you don't need to offend someone you shouldn't just for my sake."
Nevaeh's pitiful appearance only fueled Nolan's protective instincts.
"In this world, there isn't a single person Nolan Nichols is afraid to offend."
