Nolan cast a provocative glare at Andres.
It was as if he were declaring to everyone that while the White family might be the top power in Aethelburg, the Nichols family were the undisputed kings of Gotham.
"Gentlemen, what seems to be the problem here?"
The dispute drew the attention of Ivan Perez, the chief coordinator.
Ivan wasn't just the official representative chosen for the summit; he also had the authority to finalize the roster for Project Skyward.
Until the final list was announced, Ivan was the central figure everyone in the clubhouse sought to flatter.
Offending this VIP could very well mean having your name crossed off the list.
"Mr. Perez, your timing is perfect."
Nolan pointed a finger at Nevaeh's still-swollen cheek.
"The injury on Miss Mendoza's face was caused by this Mr. Andres."
"You be the judge. Does a man hitting a woman count as an act of violence?"
"Everyone attending the summit in Lumiere City today is a distinguished figure of high standing."
"Since some people possess such low character and employ such dirty tactics, I don't think he deserves to be a candidate for Project Skyward."
Ivan studied Nevaeh's slightly swollen cheek for a moment before turning his gaze to Andres.
"What's going on?"
Andres rested his forehead against his hand, a mocking smirk playing on his lips.
"Just a laughable trap someone set up."
To Andres, this setup truly was laughable.
He had already guessed that the mastermind behind this pathetic little stunt was none other than Landon Hart.
Nolan immediately fired back with self-righteous indignation.
"What do you mean 'trap'? You assaulted a woman, and that's just wrong."
Andres fixed his piercing gaze directly on Nevaeh.
"Miss Mendoza, why don't you be honest and tell everyone exactly who left that handprint on your face?"
His gaze was sharp and terrifying, frightening Nevaeh so much that she shrank further behind Nolan.
"Miss Mendoza has five very distinct finger marks on her face. Logically speaking, you can't get an injury like that from bumping into something."
"Since Mr. Nichols insists on standing up for Miss Mendoza, we might as well take this opportunity to clear everything up."
Ivan voiced his agreement with Declan's suggestion.
"Since things have already escalated to this point, I believe everyone here would like an answer."
"If this matter truly has nothing to do with Mr. White, Miss Mendoza wouldn't have pointed the finger at him so specifically, would she?"
Nolan mentally cheered for the two men.
He knew it—there were still good people in the world.
Meanwhile, Nevaeh was cursing internally, on the verge of a breakdown.
She had caused this sudden scene partly to ruin Andres's image, but her real goal was to latch onto the Nichols family's immense wealth and power.
Although Nolan had indeed stood up for her as she hoped.
She never expected him to take it this far!
