For the very first time, she was furious with Andres.
Walking out of the cafe, she pulled out her phone, wanting to call and interrogate him about the past.
She stared at his contact name for a moment, then locked the screen.
If he was dead set on hiding the truth, questioning him would only result in the same old script.
It was pointless.
She had assumed pinning Nancy down would lead her straight to Charlie's missing heart.
Now it seemed she'd have to find another path to the truth.
Right then, Murray called her.
"Your van is finished at the shop. Want me to bring it to you now?"
She had lost count of how many times the van had been back to the garage.
Every so often, she would have new modifications installed.
The mechanic was a master in the modding scene, introduced to her by Jasper Jett before he left the city.
He could turn any vehicle into an absolute beast.
Normally, she wouldn't have cared about the delivery.
But hearing Murray's voice reminded her of his nervous reaction at the Salazar estate.
She rattled off her current location and told him to pick her up immediately.
Fifteen minutes later, Murray pulled up in her heavily customized van.
She got into the passenger seat and told him to head toward Aethelburg University.
Murray was slightly confused since it wasn't the weekend and she was nowhere near campus.
"Skipping classes today, Miss Vance?"
She fastened her seatbelt.
"Naomi is sick, so I came to check on her."
In reality, Naomi wasn't sick at all; she just constantly called in fake sick days to avoid teaching.
Compared to her own casual approach to attendance, Naomi was the real delinquent.
Murray didn't suspect a thing.
On the way to the university, they made idle chatter.
