Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 842

Naomi entertained Declan for a few more moments on the phone before saying she had something to do and needed to hang up.

Declan clearly wasn't ready to let her go.

"It's the middle of the day. You can't have that many customers at the cafe right now. Let's talk a bit longer."

"I have a meeting at three, so I still have some time."

"Naomi, I'll come pick you up tonight. Let's grab dinner."

Naomi listened, her mind entirely elsewhere.

"Let's decide tonight."

Declan paused. "Are you busy with something?"

Naomi sighed. "A customer just walked in."

Declan chuckled. "Well, you can't just pay your servers to do nothing."

Naomi stood firm. "It's a very important customer."

Declan's tone shifted, sounding a bit more tense.

"A guy or a girl?"

Naomi teased him. "Mr. Fulton, you're becoming quite a micromanager lately."

Declan's soft laughter echoed through the receiver.

"Alright, since you're busy, I won't bother you. I'll give you a call after my meeting."

After hanging up, Naomi headed straight for her private lounge.

Just as she pushed the door open, a plume of thick white smoke billowed out from the laptop Maeve was actively typing on.

Naomi gasped in shock.

"What on earth? Did your computer just blow up?"

Maeve furiously yanked out the power cord and slammed the laptop shut.

"That damn Griffin, pulling this crap again."

Naomi was completely lost.

"What does Mr. Griffin have to do with this?"

Maeve pointed an accusing finger at the still-smoking machine.

"He's deliberately blocking every single back channel I try to use to look into Nancy's private files."

Maeve had attempted to hack into Nancy's background to dig up her hidden records.

But the moment she caught a trace of a lead, the security restrictions Griffin had set up aggressively rebounded the attack.

It was totally fried—definitely beyond any hope of repair.

"Maeve, do you still suspect there's something fundamentally wrong with Nancy?"

Maeve completely ignored the question, unceremoniously yanking open the drawer where Naomi hid her secret stash of snacks.

Right in front of Naomi, she aggressively tore into several bags of her absolute favorites.

Under Naomi's pained and horrified gaze, Maeve began eating them methodically.

Between bites, she casually stated, "I did find a very interesting clue."

While sitting through her morning classes, she had dug deep into the Grover family's background.

She wouldn't have known if she hadn't looked, but her search revealed a tightly guarded secret.

If it weren't for the prying eyes at the university, she wouldn't have moved her base of operations to Naomi's cafe.

Instantly forgetting about her hijacked snacks, Naomi leaned in eagerly. "What kind of clue?"

Maeve popped a chunk of chocolate into her mouth.

"Thatcher Grover has an illegitimate daughter out there. She's the exact same age as Nancy."

"But she's been hidden away her entire life, completely kept out of the public eye."
