Naomi didn't think this was some earth-shattering revelation.
"What's so strange about a patriarch of a massive dynasty like Thatcher Grover having a few illegitimate kids on the side?"
Maeve popped another piece of chocolate directly into Naomi's mouth.
"You clearly don't understand the dynamics of the Grover family."
"Do you know anything about the background of Thatcher's wife, Faye Grover?"
Naomi chewed slowly, thinking it over.
"I heard she comes from a heavy political family. Extremely powerful backing."
Maeve quickly brought her up to speed.
"When Faye joined the Grover family, she relied heavily on her family's political clout to secure the match."
"Before Thatcher ever married her, he had a fiancée he was on the verge of marrying, and her family background was just as prestigious."
"Stealing another woman's fiancé and then issuing endless hit orders on the poor ex-girlfriend after the wedding... do you know what that says about her?"
Naomi confidently delivered her verdict.
"It means Faye is completely shameless."
Maeve shot her an exasperated look.
"It means Faye is not only viciously jealous, but she's absolutely ruthless."
"With a wife that terrifying at home, do you really think Thatcher would have the guts to cheat on her?"
Naomi shrugged. "Sometimes, the fiercer the wife, the more the man wants to rebel and cheat."
Maeve shook her head. "The real issue is this: the mother of Thatcher's illegitimate daughter died the very day after giving birth."
"The girl was raised exclusively by a nanny, tucked away in a private villa owned by the Grovers."
"And that specific nanny? She is Faye's most trusted confidante."
"I dug into the biological mother's records too. She was a painfully ordinary woman. Absolutely nothing special about her."
"To put it simply, with Thatcher's high standards, he never would have looked twice at a woman like that."
Naomi finally saw the glaring inconsistencies.
"So, this illegitimate daughter wasn't the product of some sweeping romance, and Thatcher didn't even care about the biological mother."
"If we assume Andres wasn't covering for a fake to trick me, that means the woman he sees is genuine in his eyes."
"There is another theory: the woman Andres was involved with years ago was the impostor all along."
"But I've already ruled that out."
"Andres doesn't have standards low enough to fall for a woman whose only move is offering me a meager payout to disappear."
"Which means the woman Andres loved back then, and the Nancy parading around Aethelburg recently, are totally identical."
Naomi felt dizzy trying to follow Maeve's twisted logic.
"Sharing the same father but different mothers, yet having identical faces and voices... that is medically impossible."
Maeve snapped her fingers with a sharp grin.
"You always manage to zero in on exactly what I'm getting at."
"It's because it's medically impossible that this whole thing reeks of a massive cover-up."
Naomi frowned. "Okay, let's assume the Nancy you met is a complete fake. Then where the hell is the real Nancy?"
