Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 884

"Zeke tried to cover for that Grover bitch, but it's practically confirmed—the heart currently beating in her chest belongs to Charlie."

"The only reason she's still alive is thanks to an expert's intervention."

"After the transplant, someone gave her six Heartseal Pills."

"She takes one every three months, keeping the heart in prime condition."

Benjamin threw a probing glance at Maeve.

"I have a wild guess. The expert Zeke mentioned sounds exactly like Griffin."

He expected her to deny it, but she admitted it without hesitation.

"The six Heartseal Pills came from the old bastard."

"I smashed the remaining three into powder."

Benjamin instantly lost his cool.

"Griffin is your adoptive father! He was Charlie's mentor! Why would he hand over medicine to your worst enemy?"

"Wait, hold on. Those were Heartseal Pills personally crafted by Griffin."

"Why did you crush them? You should have given them to me! I need them too!"

Maeve glared at him.

"Didn't I already give you medicine?"

Benjamin argued, "Is what you gave me remotely comparable to what Griffin makes?"

Maeve's expression darkened.

"Did you forget who dragged you back from the jaws of death?"

Benjamin quieted down instantly.

Compared to the elusive Griffin, relying on Maeve was definitely the safer bet.

"I still don't get it. Why would Griffin protect that bitch's life?"

"And he's been off the grid for so long—there hasn't been a single trace of him."

The mere thought of Griffin filled Maeve with resentment.

"The old bastard knows I'm coming for him. He's probably hiding in some corner, trembling in fear."

"I had Jaroen dropped off with the Salazar family."

"Leonardo Salazar seemed to guess you were behind it. He asked me to pass along his thanks."

"Also, Zeke really didn't know Nancy's current whereabouts."

"It was obvious he wasn't lying, so pressing him further is pointless."

"What do you want to do with him?"

Stepping out the front doors, Maeve replied with icy indifference:

"As long as we find Nancy, you can dispose of that trash however you want."

The snow was falling heavier now.

Outside the grand gates, Andres stood in the snowstorm, holding a black umbrella. He wore a knee-length wool coat, waiting quietly for Maeve.

Right in front of Andres, Benjamin leaned in and whispered in Maeve's ear:

"Don't worry. No matter the cost, I will personally hand you the gift you want on Charlie's birthday."
