Without giving him a chance to respond, Maeve tore into Andres with a blistering tirade.
Andres merely chalked it up to her throwing a childish tantrum. "Alright, alright, it's my fault. I'm useless and I wasn't ruthless enough. The next time she dares to send me garbage, I'll curse her ancestors for eight generations."
Holding his pillow, he tried to climb back into bed, only for Maeve to raise a bare foot and shove him back. "I said you're sleeping in the study tonight."
Andres put on his best kicked-puppy expression. "There's no bed in the study."
Even if there were, he knew he'd somehow end up waking up next to her anyway.
Maeve wasn't buying the act for a second. "Then sleep on the floor. I don't want to look at you tonight."
This sharp-tongued, unreasonable girl was actually incredibly cute when she was furious. Andres naturally didn't take her anger to heart. Remembering he still had a few urgent documents waiting on his desk, he decided to play along and compromise.
"Fine. Since you can't stand the sight of me, I guess I'll just suffer and accept my punishment on the study floor."
Catching her slightly off guard, Andres swooped in, pulled her into a tight embrace, and planted a hard kiss on her lips. Tossing out a teasing, "Don't miss me too much," he actually walked out of the bedroom.
Wait, he actually left?
Left completely alone in the massive bed, Maeve aggressively wiped the ghost of his kiss from her lips, a sudden wave of remorse washing over her.
For a split second just now, she had looked at Andres and seen Charlie.
"Do you honestly think she texted him right now by accident?" Maeve sneered.
Naomi caught on instantly. "She did it on purpose?"
Maeve's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Nancy is going to be much harder to kill than I thought."
Naomi was struggling to understand the logic. "If she's too cowardly to face you, she should just stay in hiding. Why constantly remind you that she exists?"
Maeve had been pondering that exact question. "I think she's setting the board for a much bigger game."
Meanwhile, in the study of the Azure Bay Villa, Andres finished signing the last of his contracts and summoned Murray.
