Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 913

Maeve had felt something was off from the start. For Nancy to thrive so comfortably under her radar meant the woman wasn't an idiot.

Luring her to that abandoned parking lot was only step one. If Maeve died, great.

But if she survived, Nancy had already set up step two. Using herself as bait, she allowed Benjamin to capture her and deliver her to the party like a gift.

She knew Andres would never let her die. Not only would he protect her, but he would finally see Maeve for the monster she was and abandon her. It was a masterclass in manipulation.

Her grand scheme laid bare, Nancy could no longer underestimate her opponent.

She had assumed Maeve was just some pretty plaything Andres kept around to warm his bed during a lonely phase. Now she realized the woman had a lethal brain to match her stunning face.

Maeve clamped her fingers around Nancy's jaw, forcing her to look directly at Andres. "Tell me, if I end you right here, do you think he'll actually step in?"

Under Maeve's crushing grip, Nancy stared at Andres, desperate to find even a flicker of pity in his eyes.

There was nothing.

A suffocating wave of despair washed over Nancy, swiftly replaced by a feral need to win.

She wouldn't lose! How could she possibly lose?

Tears cascaded down her radiant complexion as she played the ultimate victim card.

"Andres, do you truly not care if I live or die?"

"We were the golden couple of our circle. Do you remember the auction where we first met? We both wanted the same Puzzle Sphere. You let me have it just to make me smile!"

Andres didn't miss a beat. "The second you mentioned you hated that model, it was permanently locked in the garage."

That, too, was a fact. When they first met, Maeve absolutely refused to ride in that car. He hadn't understood why until she finally admitted she found the model utterly repulsive. It had never seen the light of day since.

Maeve's gaze turned glacial.

"There's no such thing as hatred without a reason."

"Charlie's mangled body parts were stuffed into the trunk of that exact model."

"It all makes sense now."

"No wonder I felt sick looking at you the first time you rolled up in that thing."
