Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 836

Bria turned her head to look at Kaleb, since he was right up against her back, putting them face-to-face when she swiveled. Kaleb instinctively raised an eyebrow but kept a straight face. "I mean it."

Kaleb was good-looking, but he didn't have that male ego thing going on. He didn't randomly try to flex like Andrew did, with that obnoxious vibe radiating off him. Kaleb was handsome, but he was the kind of effortlessly handsome that knocked the wind out of you, and Bria was a complete sucker for that.

Kaleb saw Bria wasn't saying anything. "You don't believe me?"

Bria didn't hold back her praise. "No, I'm just over here losing it over how hot you are."

Kaleb just stared at her, lost for words.

Emmett took the comment like a punch to the gut. "Are you serious right now?" Then he grabbed Andrew. "Tell me you can't even watch this anymore."

Andrew said, "All I see is some single guy over here acting all bitter."

Emmett said, "Get the hell out."

Andrew was thick-skinned. "Not happening. But I get you—watching too much of this is kind of a lot." Then he turned to Bria. "People in love really are different."

He'd never seen Bria swoon over a guy like this before, which meant being with Kaleb was completely different from anything in her past. Maybe they really would last.

Could it be that getting older actually changed people? But Andrew didn't feel like he himself had changed at all, except for his dad piling work on him so he was busier than before. Mentally though, Andrew hadn't grown up one bit, and Bria's transformation was honestly throwing him off.

Besides, Andrew and the others had seen a lot in life, and even if they didn't think they were super mature, they were still more developed than most people. They were just measuring against themselves.

The whole wish-sharing thing had been Andrew's idea, and he wrapped it up for everyone. "Here's to all of our wishes coming true."

Everyone enthusiastically chimed in to second it.

They were all young, and the dinner had a really fun, energetic vibe. It was nothing like when Emmett first met Bria's group and everyone was stiff and overly polite.

Now they could joke around freely, like real friends, which was something Emmett never would've imagined back in the day.

Emmett had never imagined his life would intersect with Bria, Andrew, and the rest of them, just like Kaleb probably never imagined he'd end up dating Bria.

People you assume you'll never cross paths with in this lifetime end up colliding with you tomorrow, next month, next year, somewhere down the line.

You just have to keep moving forward one step at a time, taking it as it comes, and that's how you find out what's waiting for you.

They were all young, and there was no telling what the future held. Being happy in the moment was what mattered.

Even though Emmett was a little jealous, he was genuinely rooting for his buddy's relationship, and he was honestly curious how far Kaleb and Bria would go.
