Wiona looked up at Conrad.
Conrad offered her a gentle smile. "Don't you really want to know?"
"Have a good talk with your grandmother."
"We can step outside."
Wiona tugged lightly at his sleeve.
"No, stay with me."
Standing nearby, Nicole and Pauline exchanged glances. They finally realized that Wiona's knowledge of the situation had already reached this point. It also made them instantly understand exactly what the Tucker family had come for.
Nicole practically jumped in anger. "Those damn Tuckers!"
"Now that the fruit is ripe, they know to come pick it?"
"We've been searching for her all these years, but where were they?"
"They are absolutely terrible people!"
Pauline pulled at Nicole's arm. "Please stop talking."
"Let's go outside and give Mom and Wiona some space. They have a lot to talk about now."
With that, the two aunts walked out of the parlor together.
Only Grandma Julia, Wiona, and Conrad remained in the room.
"Grandma, do you mind if I stay?"
Conrad politely asked Grandma Julia first. If the elderly woman had any reservations, he would not brazenly insist on staying.
Grandma Julia, however, was quite open-minded. She waved her hand dismissively. "Forget it. You two have a strong bond, and it is clear Wiona relies on you deeply. Even if I kick you out now, she will just repeat everything to you later anyway."
"What's the point in that?"
"You might as well listen together now."
Grandma Julia let out a profound sigh, her memories seemingly drifting back to the distant past.
"Wiona, where would you like me to start?"
"Do you want to hear about the Tucker family first, or... the story of your biological father and your mother?"
"I can tell you everything I know in full detail."
Wiona thought for a moment before speaking. "Grandma, I want to know why you and Grandpa... and the entire Blue family, opposed them being together back then?"
Grandma Julia trembled slightly at the question. It was perfectly clear who they referred to.
This girl had gone straight to the absolute core of the issue.
But since she had already promised, there was no reason to evade it anymore. Wiona would learn these things sooner or later, especially considering Conrad seemed to have already investigated a great deal of information for her. If she continued to hide things, it might actually create a rift between the child and their family in the future. They had already missed out on being together as a family for so many years. She absolutely could not let misunderstandings arise over these past events.
"Alright. If you want to know, I will tell you."
"Let's start with the grudges and feuds between the Morgan family and the Blue family..."
