Madison felt completely helpless and on the verge of tears. She had been backed into a corner with absolutely no way out.
"Tatum, I only said I wanted to make it up to you. I never agreed to be your fiancée!" she hissed through gritted teeth. "Besides, I don't have the final say over my own marriage anyway." After speaking, she immediately looked up and cast an anxious, pleading glance at Wiona for help.
Wiona felt a pang of sympathy. It seemed Madison had already suffered quite a bit. She couldn't just stand by and watch her friend in distress, so she quickly stepped forward.
Meeting Tatum's icy glare, she showed no fear. She approached him and lowered her voice. "Tatum, don't push her too hard. You know Madison responds well to kindness but rebels against force. If she really digs her heels in, nothing will move her. But if you treat her well, she melts completely. Why don't you let me make arrangements for her? She won't be as anxious if she stays with me."
Tatum looked down at Madison again and seriously considered the suggestion. Madison gazed at Wiona excitedly, wishing she could run over to her immediately.
Tatum recalled how forcefully he had dragged her to the Blue family estate. Although Madison hadn't put up a fierce fight, he could sense her mood plummeting throughout the journey. Now, she was even showing signs of anxiety. If he continued to be overly domineering and forced her to stay by his side, she might just pull a disappearing act without a word, exactly like she did eight years ago. Tatum rubbed his temples, realizing he had indeed pushed a bit too hard.
"Do you want to go with her?" Tatum asked, rather than making the decision for her, even though he already knew the answer.
