Sheryl Yardley smirked, a sinister smile playing on her red lips. "On the tennis court, it's pretty common to get smashed in the face with a ball. Bloody noses, black eyes... happens all the time. Let's wish our valedictorian the best of luck."
Yolanda Sherwin smiled back. "Oh, definitely. I'll be right there in the stands cheering for you."
And watching Juniper Payne make an absolute fool of herself, she added silently.
After school.
Shanley Schwartz came to pick Juniper up.
As soon as she slid into the backseat, the man pulled her into his arms.
*Ahem.* Seeing this, Felton silently rolled up the privacy partition.
"What are you doing?" Juniper didn't struggle, but she narrowed her eyes at him, her tone less than pleased.
"What's wrong?" Sensing her mood, Shanley immediately turned serious. He asked softly, "Did someone upset you?"
"People just love asking for trouble." Juniper placed her hand on his waist and gave it a hard pinch.
*Damn it.*
His muscles were entirely too rock-hard. Instead of venting her frustration, she ended up hurting her fingers, which only made her angrier.
"?" Shanley was completely lost. Before he could process it, he heard his girl grumbling.
"Shanley... Shanley..." Juniper leaned her head, muttering, "I really want to poison her and make her mute."
Shanley thought for a few seconds before it clicked. His grandmother had mentioned something earlier. That brainless daughter of the Yardley family had just returned to Eclara University after two years abroad on an exchange program. Had Juniper run into her?
"I'll have someone handle it. I guarantee she'll disappear from your sight forever." As Shanley spoke, he reached for his phone.
