Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1026

"Look at that!"

someone yelled from the stands as the medical students muttered among themselves.

All eyes snapped back to the court.

Juniper was gliding across the surface with flawless coordination and bottomless stamina.

No matter how vicious or impossible Sheryl’s shots were, Juniper intercepted every single one.

Her returns were sharp, unpredictable, and constantly caught Sheryl off balance.

Ten minutes in, Sheryl had dropped three consecutive games.

Her face flushed dark with fury and humiliation, Sheryl stood near the baseline, gasping for air as she glared at Juniper with bloodshot eyes.

It was undeniable now.

Juniper wasn't just capable of playing tennis; she was incredibly, terrifyingly good at it.

If this kept up, Sheryl was going to get completely annihilated.

But then, Sheryl caught her breath and her gaze flicked down to Juniper's racket.

To avoid suspicion from the referee, her people had been very careful with the sabotage.

After surviving these intense rallies, the structural integrity of Juniper's racket was hanging by a thread.

A few more heavy hits, and it would definitely snap.

Relief washed over Sheryl. She reset her stance and threw herself back into the match.

Exactly as she predicted.

Two minutes later, the frame of Juniper's racket suddenly cracked and folded in half.

The cheering from the computer science section abruptly died.

"Oh no."

Hattie’s smile vanished. She spun to the class president. "Hurry, go grab her a spare!"

"On it!"

The president vaulted over the bleacher railing and sprinted to the equipment bins. He dug around frantically, only to pull out a single spare racket.

He inspected it.

It was completely busted too.

"Where are the rest of them?" he demanded, panicking. "Didn't the other players just finish using a bunch?"

"I think they already got put back in the equipment room," a bystander pointed out.

"I'll go get one from there." Frowning, the president turned to the court. "Goddess! Just give me a couple of minutes, I'm going to grab you a new one!"

A few moments later, someone was calling the event staff. The door to the equipment room was jammed shut.
