Lillian arrived as well.
She came with Stephen and the bodyguards who usually accompanied her.
From outside the door, Stephen had already overheard some of the conversation, and his brow furrowed repeatedly. He shot several cold, sideways glances at Brandon.
Lillian wasn’t about to tolerate any of it, either.
It had been a long time since she had set foot in this villa. She had thought she might feel sad or upset, but stepping inside again, she was surprised to find herself feeling completely calm.
She had given birth to Noah in this very house. At the time, the Blake family elders had hired the best obstetrics team to be stationed at home to assist with her delivery.
So, this villa should have held some special meaning for her.
But now, as Lillian entered, she felt nothing of the sort.
Just a placid, cold detachment.
For her, the past was truly and completely in the past.
Neither Sebastian nor the son she’d carried held any sway over her heart now. Lillian was a fortress of indifference, the embers of her past finally gone cold.
None of it had any effect on her now.
And to be honest, that feeling was quite nice.
Her presence made Martin stop short.
He didn't even know how to respond to her.
The Blake family elders were happy to see Lillian. Martin had always disliked her, but with the elders present, and seeing their expressions, he didn't dare treat her with his usual attitude.
He said nothing and just remained seated.
Sabrina and Bella were adept at reading the room. Seeing Martin's behavior, they knew to keep quiet.
Besides, Bella still felt a little intimidated in the presence of the Blake elders.
