"Hey, boss," Victor said, his tone dripping with anticipation. "Do you think the Mercer family will regret kicking you out once this press conference goes live?"
Victor lived for the drama. He couldn't wait to watch the fallout unfold.
More importantly, he had seen firsthand exactly what kind of people the Mercers were.
So, this time, he was dying to see them drown in regret.
Lillian, however, couldn't care less. She had cut ties with the Mercer family, and as far as she was concerned, they were dead to her.
She didn't want to waste her mental energy on them. Her only focus was her work and the tasks right in front of her.
"What they think or how they view this stopped mattering to me a long time ago," she said.
"In fact, I don't give a damn about their opinions."
"Whether they regret it or not is their problem, not mine."
"You know our roadmap for the company. We have far too much to do to worry about the past."
Victor was well aware of Lillian's fierce ambition. He looked at her curiously. "Ms. Mercer, once the low-altitude flight project officially launches, are you going to steal your ex-husband's business?"
"Steal?" Lillian scoffed. "That's a strong word for fair competition. Let the best product win."
"Besides, a monopoly isn't exactly a good thing. It stifles innovation. People naturally get lazy when there's no pressure."
"This industry needs a few sharks in the water to keep things moving."
Victor let out a bark of laughter. "Man, I made the right choice working for you. The entertainment value alone is off the charts. You don't get this kind of drama anywhere else."
