Lillian was fighting, too. Even though she came from wealth and had been pampered her entire childhood, she still had to fight tooth and nail for her own autonomy.
Perhaps girls all over the world were fighting in their own different ways, just to secure a better life for themselves.
Ethan took a call, then walked back over to update Lillian. "Ms. Mercer, you should head home for dinner. The boss just called and said the meal is practically ready. Everything else is arranged. The ship in international waters is prepped and waiting. We can meet up later. Right now, I need to head to the hotel to make sure everyone is packed and ready to leave with us without a hitch."
Lillian nodded. "Alright. I'll meet up with you later with Leonard."
Knowing the international waters drop-off was fully secured, Lillian dialed Celia's number one last time.
"Everything is set. If you want to oversee things or just get a final look at them, let me know soon. I'm heading out in about an hour. I've saved a seat for you on the helicopter. Whether you come or not is entirely up to you."
Celia remained silent on the other end of the line, unsure of how to respond.
The food at the cafeteria was always fantastic, and Celia usually had a great appetite, but today, she barely touched her meal.
Finally, she slammed down her silverware and called Lillian back. Then, she grabbed her keys and drove out.
After dinner, Lillian headed to the helipad where their ride was already fueled and waiting. Celia arrived right on time.
Lillian looked at her and smiled warmly.
