Damien stared blankly at the girl before him, her clear eyes reflecting his own disbelieving face.
She didn’t blame him.
And she said… she loved him too.
In the next second, Damien stood up and pulled Grace into a tight embrace.
“Grace… my Grace…”
He buried his face in the crook of her neck, repeating her name over and over.
Two souls, separated by a decade, were finally holding each other without reservation.
Grace hugged him back and whispered, “Damien, thank you.”
“Thank you for not giving up. And thank you for finding me.”
Damien didn’t speak. He just held her and brought his lips to hers.
It was a demanding, hungry kiss.
He swept her up into his arms and strode toward the bedroom.
“Grace, I’ve waited ten years for this day.”
His voice, thick with desire and a love that had been suppressed for far too long, echoed in her ear.
The bedroom door was kicked shut behind them.
The room was filled with warmth and an intoxicating intimacy.

The next day, Grace was woken by the warm sunlight streaming through the window.
She tried to move but felt as if she’d been run over by a truck, her entire body sore and weak.
Her back, especially, felt like it was about to snap.
“You’re awake?”
A voice laced with satisfaction sounded from above her.
Grace opened her eyes and was met with Damien’s impossibly handsome face.
He was lying on his side next to her, propped up on one elbow, watching her intently.
Grace’s face flushed instantly.
Scenes from last night replayed in her mind uncontrollably.
She bit her lip and shot him a glare.
“Damien, are you some kind of demon?”
Damien chuckled deeply.
