Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 21

Grace stood frozen, a chill running through her.

She watched the absurd scene unfold, her two brothers glaring at her with fury, and felt as if her throat were stuffed with cotton. She couldn’t say a word.

She hadn't pushed her.

She hadn't even touched the hem of her clothes.

But who would believe her?

In this family, her words had never been worth anything.

The commotion upstairs finally reached Mr. Hart in his study.

"What's all this shouting? Is this a marketplace?!"

With an authoritative roar, Mr. Hart emerged from his study, his face grim.

When he saw Lilian cradled in Lucian's arms, her face covered in blood, sobbing hysterically, his eyes widened in shock.

"Lilian! What happened?!"

Lucian immediately pointed an accusing finger at Grace, his voice dripping with venom.

"Dad! Ask her! Ask this 'perfect' daughter of yours!"

"All we did was ask where she's been the last two days, and she went crazy, shoving Lilian into the corner of the table!"

"Dad, look how much blood Lilian has lost! This monster was trying to kill her!"

Mr. Hart's gaze shot toward Grace like a dagger.

There wasn't a hint of doubt in his eyes, only towering rage and utter disgust.

He didn't bother asking for her side of the story or listening to any explanation. He pointed a finger at Grace's face and cursed her.

"You disgrace! Isn't it enough that you've ruined the Hart family's reputation?!"

"Now you come back home to harm your own sister?!"

"What is your heart made of? Stone? You're a curse on this family, you've brought us nothing but shame!"

Harm your own sister...

A curse...

Every word was like the blow of a heavy hammer, crashing down on Grace's already shattered heart.

She looked at the man before her—her own father.
