Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 421

Hearing Dorian Hart’s voice, Grace Hart suddenly had a bad feeling.

Her voice trembled as she asked, “Where are you? Why is the wind so loud?”

“I’m at the docks.”

Dorian chuckled, a laugh of relief that Grace had never heard from him before.

“The view is nice, but it’s a little cold.”

“Grace, I... I’ve been a terrible brother to you.”

“I’m not asking for your forgiveness… I just hope… if I don’t make it back this time, could you… could you not think of me as such a bad person?”

“Even just a little… could you think of me as a decent brother?”

Several muffled thuds came from the other end of the line, like something heavy hitting a car door.

Then, a strange man’s voice roared, “He’s in the car! Don’t shoot, take him alive!”

“Dorian! Run!” Grace instinctively screamed into the phone, tears instantly welling up in her eyes.

“There’s no escape.”

Dorian looked at the men in black surrounding the car, at the dark muzzles of their guns pointed at him.

He pulled out a utility knife, a tool he used for his models.

“Grace, I’m sorry… Take care.”

The line went dead.

The phone slipped from her numb fingers, the thud against the carpet sounding miles away through the ringing in her ears.

Grace’s knees buckled as her entire world came crashing down around her, but Damien was already there. His arm was a steel band around her waist, catching her before she hit the floor.

“Grace!”

“He…” Grace clutched Damien’s collar, her vision blurred by tears. “He went to lure them away… Damien, save him… even if he is a Hart, even if he used to…”

“I know.”

Damien pulled her into his arms, his gaze swirling with unreadable emotions.

He hadn’t expected the cold and selfish Dorian to have this kind of courage in the end.
