Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 260

“How… how did this happen?”

Tiny shards of porcelain were embedded in her flesh.

Grace bit her lip hard, not making a sound.

What was this pain compared to the gaping hole in her heart?

Compared to being drugged by her own grandfather, to being locked out by her own grandmother who listened to her cries for help and did nothing.

This pain was nothing more than a scratch.

After her wounds were treated, she underwent a full examination.

Fortunately, aside from the superficial injuries and a mild concussion, she hadn't been sexually assaulted.

Lying on the hospital bed, Grace stared blankly at the ceiling.

Elliot walked in, holding her test results.

He pulled a chair over and sat by her bed.

“Damien is still in the next town over, looking for you.”

Elliot couldn’t stop himself from mentioning the name.

“He’s deployed drones and search-and-rescue dogs.”

“It’s a massive operation.”

Grace didn’t respond.

She stared at the IV bag, her eyes vacant.

“Grace.”

Elliot hesitated for a moment before pulling a transparent evidence bag from his pocket.

Inside was an old Nokia phone.

It had been found on her grandfather.

“There’s something I think you have a right to know.”

Grace’s eyelashes fluttered.

“Go on.”

“When we arrested Edmund Fenwick, we also searched your grandfather’s room.”

Elliot’s voice was heavy.

“We found that he’s been in contact with Martin.”

Grace turned her head.

Martin?

The same Martin whom Damien had personally sent to prison?

“Before Martin went to prison, he visited that village.”

Elliot shook the evidence bag in his hand.

“This phone has a text message Martin sent him before he was incarcerated.”
