Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 274

“Elliot said you went to see your uncle’s old partner last night?” Ivy asked cautiously. “How did it go? Did you find anything out?”

Grace’s hand paused as she turned a page, her fingertips turning white.

“I did,” she said flatly. “My uncle was set up and ruined by Gavin Clarke and Silas Greymark working together.”

Ivy sucked in a sharp breath, nearly spilling the milk in her hand. “Then… what about Damien?”

“He was framed.”

As Grace said those words, her heart clenched with a sharp, stabbing pain.

Ivy stared, then let out a shriek. “What?! So this whole time… you’ve been hating him for nothing? Grace, that’s awful!”

“Yeah, it’s awful.” Grace gave a self-deprecating laugh and took a large gulp of black coffee from the table. The bitter taste was a shock to her system. “Not only did I hate the wrong person, I pushed away the one person who loved me most. And for a relative who threw me to the wolves, I ruined myself completely.”

She set down the cup, her expression turning hard.

“But it doesn’t matter.”

“I’m still alive. And as long as I am, I can still turn the tables.”

“I’m going to work for the Clarke Corporation.”

Ivy looked completely bewildered. “Work for them? Why? That old fox Gavin Clarke went right back to the corporation after he got out of prison. He’s a shareholder now. Aren’t you just sending a sheep into a tiger’s den?”

“Sending a sheep into a tiger’s den?” Grace stood up and smoothed down her business suit.

“Whether I’m the sheep or the wolf remains to be seen.”

She picked up her bag and walked to the doorway to put on her shoes.

“Oh, by the way, Grace,” Ivy called after her, pointing out the window. “That’s Damien’s car downstairs, right? It’s been there all night. The security guard was just asking about it in the group chat.”
