“Contact them,” Damien Clarke said, his fingers tapping lightly on the desk. “As long as they’re willing to provide all the data on Nemesis Group Inc.’s illegal experiments in Europe, then once this is over, the Clarke family won’t take a single cent of Nemesis Group Inc.’s market share. It will all be theirs.”
“All… all of it?” Felix felt a pang of regret. “Mr. Clarke… we’re talking about an unimaginable fortune! Enough to reshape the entire market!”
Damien scoffed. “I have no interest in that kind of blood money.”
What he wanted was never money.
Over the next month, an unprecedented earthquake shook the international financial world.
The Clarke family, with all its capital, launched a frenzied assault on Nemesis Group Inc.’s overseas defenses.
At the same time, the “Victim’s Alliance” that Grace Hart had assembled appeared before an international tribunal.
Thousands of top-secret documents were made public.
The list of crimes included, but was not limited to: bribing high-ranking European officials, conducting illegal clinical trials in impoverished neighborhoods and orchestrating global biological panics to sell vaccines…
Any one of these charges was enough to kill Nemesis Group Inc. a hundred times over.
When international police stormed the Nemesis Group Inc. headquarters and led away the once-invincible CEO, the scene was broadcast live and seen across the country.
Grace watched the screen, seeing the disheveled old man being put in handcuffs.
“Satisfying, isn’t it?” Damien wrapped his arms around her from behind, his large hand resting gently on her growing belly.
“Very,” Grace said, her eyes slightly red, but a smile of relief spread across her lips.
“The Shepherd has been dealt with too,” Damien said, his chin resting in the crook of her neck. “The leader was crippled, the tendons in his hands and feet severed. He’s been dropped into a black site so deep it doesn't exist on any map. He’ll spend the rest of his life rotting in a hole where the rats are his only company. I hear the rats there outnumber the people.”
“As for you,” Damien’s voice softened, “Ms. Hart, congratulations on your new position.”
Just yesterday, the newly established “Ethical Technology Alliance” had unanimously elected Grace as its first chairwoman.
Not only that, but the once-mysterious Helix Line—the ancient guardians who had been secretly fighting Nemesis Group Inc.—had also formally extended an invitation to Grace, appointing her as a lifetime external consultant.
“Damien.”
“Hm?”
