Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 484

Grace hadn't expected the DA's office to get involved so quickly.

She looked at Serena, fighting the urge to beat her to a pulp. “Serena, what is it that you really want?”

“Mrs. Clarke, I already told you, this is a police investigation. What does it have to do with me?” Serena laughed gleefully. “But you'd better hurry over, Mrs. Clarke. If you're late, you might have to schedule a prison visit.”

“You just wait.”

Grace threw the words at her and turned to leave.

As Grace's figure disappeared through the restaurant entrance, Serena finally burst out laughing.

“Hahahaha…”

The young man who had been sitting by silently now cautiously leaned in. “Serena, so… what's the next step?”

Serena stopped laughing, picked up her glass, and took an elegant sip.

The golden champagne reflected her twisted smile.

“No rush.”

She gazed out the window with a cold look in her eyes. “The show is just getting started.”

The man shivered and didn't dare say another word.

On the ride back, Grace was silent.

Felix, in the passenger seat, was constantly on the phone.

“Mr. Clarke is on his way to the station, and the Clarke family's legal department has been mobilized.” Felix put down his phone and turned to console her. “Mrs. Clarke, please don't worry too much. Miss Dawson will be alright.”

“Alright?”

Grace looked out at the endless stream of traffic, her eyes burned with unshed tears. “Felix, do you know what it feels like to be betrayed by the person you trust most, only to face the threat of prison?”

Felix fell silent.

He didn't know, but he knew Grace did.
