On Mount Cloudpeak.
Jade arrived at the church. John Walter lived a life of quiet reflection here, spending his days in prayer and meditation for the family.
She stepped into the meditation chapel, the scent of burning sandalwood filling her senses.
The minimalist surroundings finally allowed Jade’s racing heart to slow down.
She walked forward, her eyes landing on the elderly man sitting on a cushion, his fingers moving over a cross. She spoke softly.
“Grandpa John.”
John opened his eyes, and his face lit up with genuine joy.
“Jade? What are you doing here?”
“Grandpa…”
Jade’s voice broke, and the tears she’d been holding back finally flooded over.
In the entire Walter family, John was the only person who truly loved her and saw her.
Seeing him was like a battered child finally finding a safe harbor. All her trauma came crashing down at once.
John’s expression shifted instantly. He pushed himself off the cushion.
“Jade, child, what on earth has happened?”
Thud-
Jade fell heavily to her knees at John’s feet.
“Grandpa, please… help me. Make Hudson sign the divorce papers.”
John’s face turned grim. He reached down to pull her up.
“Jade, get up. We can talk about this like adults. Why are you on your knees?”
Jade shook her head, her body remaining rooted to the spot.
“Grandpa, if you don’t help me, I’m not getting up.”
John looked at her stubborn, tear-streaked face and didn’t push her further. Then, a thought crossed his mind, and his eyes grew
dark.

Chapter 54 Final Plea
“Is this about Hudson bringing Amara into the house? Is that why you’re doing this?”
Jade sniffled and gave a small, painful nod.
‘Grandpa, it’s not just-”
Before she could finish, a sharp voice cut through the hall.

‘Grandpa! This has nothing to do with Amara. It’s just a misunderstanding between us. She’s just being impulsive. Let me take her home, and we’ll talk.”
lade looked back and saw Hudson standing there, his face a mask of repressed fury.
The next second, he hauled her up by the arm and dragged her into the courtyard behind the chapel.
Let go of me!”
lade wrenched her arm free and turned to go back to John.
She only made it two steps before Hudson blocked her path.
His cold, accusatory voice lashed out at her.
You did this on purpose, didn’t you? You know Grandpa can’t stand Amara or her daughter, and yet you dragged this drama to his loorstep. What is your endgame, Jade?”
My demand is simple.”
lade met his gaze with a level of calm that was more chilling than any scream.
‘I want a divorce.”
Jade!”
Hudson was losing his patience.
Amara and her daughter have nothing. Why can’t you just be a little more generous for once?”
lade let out a short, hollow laugh.
‘Is their ‘misery’ my responsibility? Did I cause it?”
Hudson faltered, and Jade pressed on, her voice rising.
If I’m not the cause of their problems, why should I be the one to sacrifice everything? Why should I sit back and watch Amara trample over every boundary I have?”
She fought to maintain her composure, but the memories of the night before were like acid in her mind.
A cold shiver raced through her body. She couldn’t stop her voice from trembling with rage.
“If she just stayed in the house, fine. But she replaced my things. She turned the nursery I built for my baby into a bedroom for her brat. And then she crawled into my husband’s bed. She has pushed me to the edge, Hudson. I don’t care about her anymore–| honestly wish she would just die.”

Hudson was horrified by her words.

“I told you she did it for the kid! And you’re sitting there wishing her dead? Jade, since when did you become so vicious?”
“Vicious?”
Jade let out a bitter, jagged laugh, wiping the moisture from her eyes.
“Then do me a favor and divorce this ‘vicious’ woman. Save your precious darlings from my cruelty. I’m done being the villain in
your story.”
“Jade!”
Hudson stepped forward, his hands clamping onto her shoulders.
“I’ve explained this to you a thousand times! Why won’t you listen to a single word I say?”
Jade stopped fighting. She hung her head, silently absorbing the waves of exhaustion and pain. Then she looked up, her eyes boring into Hudson’s.
“Even if those are the truths, what about all the lies you told me before?”
Hudson’s brows pulled together.
“What lies?”
Jade drew a long, shaky breath, mentally peeling back the layers of deception that had cut her to the bone.
Then, with the precision of a surgeon, she began to recount every piece of evidence that proved he never loved her, b trembling but clear.
