Aiden POV

I’m smiling, amused, because I insisted Thalia come to the pack hospital here at Crossfang. I really do want to make sure she is okay, but honestly, I want to see if she is pregnant again with my sons. I am pretty anxious to see her belly swollen with my pups again.

‘Seriously?! It’s not a good time to be pregnant again, guapo.’

‘But you are so sexy, carrying my pups, Mojito.’ I grinned.

She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. I see some bruising on her shoulder, and my eyebrows furrowed.

“You are injured, though,” I said, looking at her shoulder.

She sighed, “You know I will be healed in a little while. You are seriously worrying too much.”

The doctor comes in and does a preliminary exam. He is writing down a lot of different notes, and I went from just being curious to getting worried.

“Doc, is everything okay? You are writing a lot of notes? Is something wrong with my mate?”

The doctor looked at Thalia and then at me. “Alpha Aiden, it appears Luna Thalia is making light of her injuries. She will heal; however, she does need to rest tonight.”

“What injuries?” I asked, looking at Thalia with incredulous eyes.

“She has a broken arm, and I am pretty sure she has a broken rib. I need an X-ray to confirm.”

Thalia stands up, and she is clearly favoring her side. She rolled her eyes, “Seriously, I will be fine.”

I got in front of her, “Mojito, X-Ray.”

“Guapo…No.”

“Do I need to carry you?”

“You wouldn’t.”

“Try me,” I smirked.

She grunted. “Fine,” she said, pouting as she sat back down.

The doctor suppressed a smile and took a moment before continuing. “Luna, before we take you for an X- Ray, is there any chance you could be pregnant?”

I smiled widely, and Thalia’s eyes widened in uncertainty. “Um…I’m not sure.”

“Okay, why don’t we find out first. Then we can proceed with caution, if you are pregnant.”

The doctor gave her a cup, and she went to provide a sample. While I was alone with the doctor, I asked him to give me a rundown of all the injuries.

“Honestly, Alpha, there are quite a few. I’m going to take a lot of X-Rays and make sure we account for everything. Wherever is too dangerous for an X-Ray, assuming she is pregnant, I will use an ultrasound.”

Why would she make light of her injuries? She knows damn well I would protect her. We are having a serious conversation about this later.

After thirty minutes, the doctor comes in, “Pregnancy results are negative. I’m having a nurse come in to get you set up for your X-Rays.”

Thalia visibly exhaled and smiled softly. “Thank you, doctor.”

When he left, I looked at Thalia. “Mojito, are you having second thoughts about having my pups?”

She looked at me, amused, “Of course not, guapo. I just want to enjoy the family we have a little longer before having more. Being pregnant was nerve-wracking for me last time. Plus, I did not like labor and delivery. It was brutal.”

“Why didn’t you tell me you were feeling bad? You have broken bones, Mojito.”

“Nyx said she would have me healed by tonight. It didn’t feel like a big deal.”

“What am I going to do with you and your stubbornness?” I asked.

She smiled slyly, “Love me harder?”

“I’m putting you over my knee when you are healed.”

She laughed, and then the nurse came to take her for the X-Rays.

I grabbed my phone and texted Isaiah.

[Aiden: Rogues attacked. Mia was the target. This has something to do with Julian. He wanted her. Thalia is getting X-Rays done.”]

[Isaiah: Seriously? Is everyone okay? What happened to Thalia? Remember that Julian wanted Rodrigo, too. You should probably keep an eye on him.]

He is right. I am pretty damn certain this was Julian. He said he wanted Mia. Those rogues were targeting her. If they saw Rodrigo, then Julian would know by now.

[Aiden: Thalia got injured. Broken arm and rib. She will be recovered by tonight. We plan to come back tomorrow for Kaia’s blood pact initiation. You should tell her what to expect. You both are mated now. So it’s a given for her to know.]

[Isaiah: I’ll talk to her. See you tomorrow.]

I stepped out of the room and saw Rodrigo sitting in the waiting room. I breathed a sigh of relief.
