His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 525

Thalia POV

I have to admit, I’m also holding back some information about Declan. In the deeper part of his memories, he was a warrior. He didn’t live in a wealthy or efficient pack, though. He was a diamond in the rough, and no one listened to his ideas. He was capable, and no one paid attention.

When the pack was lost, he practically starved to death, and that led him to pick through garbage for deformed vegetables. I question the charges and who charged him. It seemed excessive to throw him in prison and tarnish his record over discarded food. Why go through all that trouble over one man who was starving? It doesn’t make sense. Either way, I think he will be an asset to Isaiah or us. I want to talk to Aiden about it further, though.

After almost three hours on the road, driving back to the pack, we finally reach the pack border, and the guards open the gates for us. We get to the pack house. Renz and Lacy are waiting for us, and when we get out, we see Jonah and Rory come out too.

They all looked worried, but we quickly told them what had happened and then introduced Declan. Declan seemed nervous until he saw Damon walking by.

“Damon?”

“Declan? What are you doing here?”

“You two know each other?” I asked.

Declan responded, “Yeah. Once upon a time, we were both in the same pack.”

My eyebrow went up, and my scalp tingled. What are the odds? They were both in the same pack, and now they are both rogues? That can’t be a coincidence. I hadn’t looked into Damon or Enzo because Aiden was handling them, and I was focused on Adrian and Amber.

‘Guapo, we need to talk about those two,’ I said.

‘Let’s get Declan settled. Then we can talk,” Aiden said.

Aiden asked an omega to show Declan to a guest room and to have him supplied with clothes and whatever else he needed. Then I went to his office with Renz, Lacy, Jonah, and Rory.

Once inside, I started explaining what I saw in Declan’s thoughts, and then how I found it curious that he and Damon came from the same pack and both ended up as rogues.

“It almost sounds like something nefarious is happening. I’m not sure I can judge it by two former pack members, though. I wonder if there is a way to locate any other members,” I said.

“It could be a coincidence, but you are right; it does seem odd,” Rory said.

“We could check the registry of the previous pack. See if there is any information on the relocation of previous pack members,” Renz suggested.

“Do we know the name of the previous pack?” Aiden asked.

“No. But we can ask Damon,” Jonah said.

Aiden's mind linked, “Damon and then said the previous pack name was Brownstone.”

He started clicking away at the computer, and his eyebrows furrowed together. His eyes glazed over, and then he continued clicking away. While I’m waiting to find out what Aiden found, there is a knock at the door.
