Sinclair POV
My brain stopped. Ronan really is my father? He fathered twins with my mother. Aric and I are half-siblings? Is that why we didn’t have our wolves? Now I have more questions than answers.
“You are lying!” Aric growled.
Cherise started laughing. It sounded maniacal. “I saw them myself. He didn’t even know I saw how your mother rode him like a cowboy into the sunset. Their moans and their stench filled my nostrils. I will never forget it. That’s why I decided to get rid of you. I didn’t want her to have a reminder of MY husband!”
“No. My father would have scented that my sisters were not his. You’re lying!” Aric insisted.
That’s a thing? A wolf can scent their own pups and know if it is theirs or not? Sounds better than a DNA test.
“Aric, we will check the DNA results when we get back to the pack. There were numbers there. We will ask the doctor for more information. I know there is a way to distinguish half-siblings from full-siblings. I just don’t have the information,” I said, before turning my attention back to Cherise.
“Did Ronan know about my mother being pregnant?” I asked.
She smiled wickedly. “Yes. He knew. When he found out, that’s when we divorced. He hated me, and I was glad! He was even more furious with your mother for running away with his hybrid abominations!”
“So for revenge and jealousy, you took me from my family. You sent rogues to kill my parents and sister?”
Cherise scoffed, “I can’t stand rogues. I didn’t know your parents and sister were dead. Hate to burst your bubble, I wanted your mother alive and suffering every day for the rest of her miserable life, wondering where her precious monstrosity went. Death would have been too easy. No…I wanted her to suffer every day for the rest of her life while I lived my best life.”
So someone else killed my parents and sister? Another fucking mystery. Just fucking great.
“Where can I find Ronan?”
She tsked, “Hell if I know. I haven’t seen him in years. I hope he is rotting in hell.”
