I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 450

Linda let out a small gasp and quickly coughed, immediately looking away, not daring to watch.

I was trapped in Steven's arms, forced to meet his dark, grim gaze. He seemed to despise me putting him and Verna together, and his anger was palpable.

But it was the second half of his sentence that made my face turn ashen.

The child I lost in my past life was a bottomless, lifelong pain, a bloody nightmare I couldn't even bear to think about, and he dared to bring it up to my face!

Even if he didn't remember his past life, he had no right! He should think about what he did after I lost the child. Our relationship had deteriorated to the point where we could have stabbed each other, where we hated each other. For him to mention a child was like driving a knife straight into my heart.

I forcefully pried his fingers off and broke free from his grasp, my eyes cold as I stared at him.

"Then you're going to be disappointed. I will not have your children. Don't be delusional. Stop dreaming of the impossible."

Steven's long fingers froze slightly. He stared at me, his grim expression slowly shifting into something unreadable, his lips pressed into a thin line.

Linda seemed to have overheard something and awkwardly raised a hand to scratch her head.

I turned to leave, but just then, a familiar, clear voice called out, "Zephyra."

Jacob, dressed in a white shirt, had shed the look he'd had for days. He was walking toward us with a bright smile.

He reached us, his eyes first flicking over Steven as he greeted him with a "Mr. Lancaster," then he turned to me with a sweet smile.

"Zephyra, I saw your name on the list. I guessed you'd be here, but I didn't think I'd be lucky enough to run into you so soon."
