As Steven buckled my seatbelt, his deep eyes narrowed at my words, and his tone turned icy.
"See what happens if you try."
Furious, I raised my hand to slap him, but he caught my wrist in a firm grip.
"What is wrong with you? Have you gone baby-crazy?!"
Steven was only twenty-eight. He wasn't even thirty, so why was he in such a hurry to have a child?
The man I knew in our past life had never been concerned about it, not even at thirty-two. The only reason we had that child back then was because I wanted one, and he finally agreed to stop using birth control.
Why had his attitude about this changed so completely?
Steven stared into my eyes without a word. He reached over, snatched my phone, and then shut the car door before driving me to the hospital.
I had no chance to escape, especially since he had my phone.
Watching the scenery blur past the window, my stomach twisted into a knot.
Who on earth started this rumor? How could Steven be so gullible? Since when did he believe such baseless gossip?
When we arrived at the hospital, a doctor with a kind smile greeted us. "Mr. Lancaster, Mrs. Lancaster."
I scowled. "I am not Mrs. Lancaster."
Steven ignored me and addressed the doctor. "Run some tests on her. I need to know if she's pregnant and how the baby is doing."
The doctor nodded immediately. "Of course."
