I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 816

Mary was so furious she could barely breathe, glaring at Steven, speechless.

I looked at Steven; his expression wasn't casual at all. He genuinely meant to send him away.

I zoned out for a moment. Lately, Steven had truly been defending me in every situation, putting me first.

His deep affection moved me, but it also left me feeling confused.

Mary stood stunned for a long moment before finally snapping out of it. “Steven, that’s your father! How could you...”

Before she could finish, she shot me a vicious glare, as if this was all my fault.

I couldn't help but find it a little amusing. With Mary's habit of blaming others for every problem, it was no wonder Thomas turned out the way he did.

Steven ignored Mary's accusation and instead naturally took my hand, lacing our fingers together.

“In my heart, Zephyra is the most important person. If you insist on making things difficult for her, you're deliberately going against me.”

Mary was choked speechless. She gritted her teeth. “I... I didn't mean it. It's just that what Zephyra said was too harsh, and I lost my temper. It won't happen again!”

Although she said the words, her eyes told me she wasn't genuinely sorry.

I stared at her with a mocking gaze. She was certainly good at knowing when to back down.

Steven seemed uninterested in her excuses and turned to me. “Should we go back and eat?”

That's when I remembered how furious Uncle Julian must be. How was I going to explain this to him? Just thinking about it gave me a headache.

I suddenly felt a surge of anger and shook off Steven's hand. “Stay out of my business!”

With that, I turned and walked toward the villa. When Steven tried to follow, I stopped him immediately. “You're not allowed in.”
