I was about to turn off my phone, but the message made my blood run cold.
I stared at the text for a long time, making sure I wasn't seeing things.
The person who really killed me?
In my past life, I remembered dying from illness brought on by alcoholism after I lost my child.
I had all those memories, so how could someone have killed me?
Just as I was lost in confusion, another message popped up: “Do you really want to stay in the dark, a fool who knows nothing?”
My brow furrowed as the image of myself lying in a cold hospital bed from my past life surfaced in my mind.
Back then, I was filled with endless terror. After my rebirth, I'd deliberately avoided that memory, to the point where even hearing the word “hospital” filled me with dread.
Seeing Horace’s messages, I couldn't remain calm. I didn't want the memories of my past life to be an unsolved mystery.
Just then, Steven must have sensed something was off. He sat up slightly and asked with concern, “What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”
I put my phone down and said nonchalantly, “It's nothing. You were just holding me too tight.”
I wasn't going to let Steven know about this. If he found out I was going to see Horace again, he would be furious. I planned to slip out for a quick visit and come right back.
At my words, Steven immediately loosened his grip. “Is that better?”
I nodded without another word, but my mind was racing, trying to figure out what Horace wanted to tell me.
The next morning, I rushed to the hospital without even stopping for breakfast.
