Amelia picked her up. Before she could even coax her a couple of times, Nina spotted the
necklace on Amelia.
“So pretty!” Nina pointed at the necklace.
Amelia’s eyes curved into a smile. “Yes! It’s really pretty. Your daddy gave it to me.”
Nina looked down at her own neck.
She reached out her little hand and touched it. “Nina no have.”
The moment Nina said that, Amelia immediately looked up at Benjamin.
Nina was actually the one who received the most gifts at home.
William, Daniel, Lucas-even Benjamin’s friends-had all spoiled her with countless gifts.
Especially Daniel-he always whined about being poor, but when it came to buying gifts, he didn’t look poor at all.
William was even more extravagant. The clothes, shoes, and little accessories he bought for Nina were so many that they had to add two more walk-in closets just to fit everything.
Nina had tons of stuff, but she had a small heart. The second she saw someone else with something, she wanted it too.
Nina, who didn’t have a necklace, said in a pitiful voice, “Mommy.”
She buried her chubby little face in Amelia’s chest and stopped looking at Benjamin.
She was mad.
Just as she turned her back on Benjamin to sulk, her back got poked with a finger.
“You have one too,” Benjamin said.
He hadn’t prepared a gift just for Amelia.
He knew exactly how little Nina was, so he’d gotten something for her as well.
The second Benjamin said Nina had a gift too, the girl who’d been puffing up angrily twisted
her head around in a flash.

“Daddy!”
Nina wasn’t mad anymore. She looked at Benjamin with eager eyes and held out her chubby little hands.
Benjamin pulled an amber necklace from his pocket for her.
Amber wasn’t cheap, but it wasn’t overly expensive either.
Because Nina’s things got damaged way too often, Amelia herself always stressed not to buy her anything too valuable for everyday use.
Amelia said it was not too expensive, but her idea of “not expensive” was different from the Graham family’s.
This piece of amber costs tens of thousands of dollars.
In Benjamin’s eyes, that was just something cheap-not valuable at all, something Nina could toss around and play with.
Nina, now with her gift, beamed on her little face.
“Daddy… Nina love you so much! hug!”
Nina clutched the amber necklace and opened her chubby arms for Benjamin to hug her.
The warm family moment in the ward was quietly watched by Nelson, who had woken up some time ago.
While he watched, Nina scooted over.
“Nelson!” She pointed at Nelson’s bandaged arm and asked, “Hurt?”
Nelson shook his head. “No.”
Nelson was a kid with extremely high pain tolerance.
If it were Nina with that injury, she’d probably cry for three days.
“Nelson… hug.”
Nina’s way of comforting people was always a hug.
But unfortunately, Amelia stopped her the moment she said it. “Nina, no. Nelson’s hurt.”
Amelia already felt so sorry for Nelson.

Nelson had ended up in the hospital because of Nina.
She absolutely couldn’t let him get hurt again because of Nina.
Amelia only allowed them to play together-no hugs.
From noon until evening, Nina stayed in Nelson’s ward.
Nina hated hospitals the most and hated being stuck in a room, but this time, to keep Nelson company, she stayed obediently for half the day.
Only when it was almost completely dark did Amelia carry Nina home.
Before leaving, Nina even gave Nelson the toys that had been sent from home, plus her amber necklace that already had a chipped corner.
“Nelson… car… sleep together,” she said.
Nelson said, “Okay.”
He watched as Nina was carried away by her parents.
After stepping out, Amelia still turned back several times.
