By the time he had the fire fully out and held the housekeeper captive, a small area on his arm had been
burned.
The Wilson family woke up in alarm and rushed over, and security and police had all arrived. Amelia pulled Benjamin to the hospital.
Amelia had wanted to leave Nina behind. But Nina saw Benjamin hurt and cried miserably. She inued on going.
She wasn’t even scared of the hospital anymore.
On the way, Nina stared at Benjamin’s arm. Every time he looked, she’d wipe her eyes. “Daddy hurt Daddy no hurt!”
Benjamin freed his other hand to wipe Nina’s tears.
His voice stayed calm, no hint of pain.
But Nina was heartbroken.
Her teary, round eyes cradled Benjamin’s arm. Her baby voice choked. “Daddy put med. Put med and no hurt!”
“Okay,” Benjamin said. “I’ll put medicine soon.”
The family of three went to the hospital in the middle of the night to treat the wound
Benjamin’s wound was treated quickly.
After treatment, he wanted to pick Nina up.
Nina shook her little head and refused.
Her round eyes held tears. Sadly, she said, “Nina fatty. Daddy no.”
Benjamin looked at the sad Nina. He bent down and scooped her up with one hand.
Benjamin, who always thought Nina was chubby, now said the opposite. ‘Not fat.”
He held her with one hand and bounced her a bit. “Daddy can hold.”
Benjamin’s move made Nina cry even harder.
Nina wrapped her arms tight around his neck, pressing lose.
Benjamin felt her fear and soothed softly. “Daddy’s fine. The wound will heal soon.”
Benjamin downplayed it. But Nina had seen the injury. She knew it looked scary.
Nina clung to him. After crying for a long while, she cried herself to sleep.

Chapter 221 Midnight Rescue
Once asleep, Amelia took her.
When Benjamin passed Nina to Amelia, he noticed Amelia’s eyes were a bit red.
His expression paused. Then he lifted his hand and gently ruffled Amelia’s hair.
“I’m really okay.” Benjamin’s tone held none of his usual coldness toward outsiders.
He patiently comforted Amelia, “I’ve had worse injuries before. This is nothing to me.”

“But it hurts a lot.” Amelia sniffled, her voice choked. “Benjamin, don’t get hurt again. Nina and I don’t want to see you hurt.”
Benjamin looked at them in front of him. After a moment, he nodded.
“I promise you both. I won’t get hurt again.”
The moment felt warm and tender for the little family, but it didn’t last long-Daniel burst in, panicking.
“You’re hurt?!”
Daniel’s voice was loud. Sleeping, Nina jolted, almost waking.
Before Benjamin could glare, Daniel spotted sleeping Nina and lowered his volume himself.
“Where are you hurt? Serious? What about Amelia and Nina?”
Daniel was nearly frantic.
Amelia saw his worry and quickly explained, “Nina and are fine. Benjamin’s arm got burned.”
Daniel glanced at Benjamin’s arm. He got even angrier.
If Nina weren’t there, he’d really curse.
“That arson housekeeper’s being questioned by the police. Once they find the mastermind, we’ll take them down!”
Benjamin didn’t respond to Daniel’s harsh words.
Benjamin just took Amelia and Nina to see the Wilson fmily.
The whole family was safe and sound. Jane, protected by Freya, was unharmed, too.
Jane kept looking for Amelia.
Seeing Amelia arrive, Jane finally calmed.
