Chapter 507 Get Strong and Smart

Once Daniel left, Amelia called Nina back to bed.

She turned off the lights and let Nina wiggle around on the bed..

Nina messed around until she got bored and fell asleep on her own.

The next morning, Nina woke up earlier than Benjamin and Amelia again.

She blinked awake for a minute, then was full of energy.

She played by herself on the bed.

Two storage boxes by the headboard held all her toys.

Nina dumped every toy out, but didn’t play with any of them.

She started climbing on the headboard instead.

Nina stepped on Benjamin’s face, held onto the headboard, and giggled. Then she sat right on his face, trying to squish him.

Benjamin had to wake up from all the chaos.

When he opened his eyes, Nina had stopped sitting on his face.

She was about to jump on his chest.

Benjamin sighed and grabbed her just in time.

He couldn’t let her bounce on his chest-she was too heavy and too strong.

Even with his stamina, she’d knock the wind out of him.

“Mowning, Daddy.” Nina giggled and snuggled close after Benjamin lifted her off.

She had endless energy in the morning.

Benjamin propped himself up and stopped her from playing more on the bed.

The bed was king-sized, but it still wasn’t big enough for her.

She could easily roll off, and she was too good at causing trouble for any bed to contain her.

Benjamin said, “Hold still. Let’s get you dressed.”

He was still in his pajamas, but he dressed Nina first.

Benjamin laid out several outfits and let her pick.

Nina chose randomly, then refused to put it on.

Benjamin always had to coax and gently force her to get dressed.

Once she was dressed and washed up, Benjamin set Nina by the bedroom door.

He said, “Go have Grandpa feed you breakfast. Don’t bother Mommy and me. We’re getting up, too.”

Benjamin closed the door, leaving Nina outside.

Nina tilted her head up, then clenched her fists and banged on the door.

She shouted, “Daddy, open! Nina!”

Nina yelled that it was her and demanded to be let in.

But Benjamin kept her locked outside.

Before she could knock much longer, William heard the noise and hurried over to pick her up.

William said, “Morning, Nina! Hungry? Grandpa will get you breakfast. There are your favorite little pies today.”

He distracted her with food. Nina sat in his arms, still staring back at the closed door.

She frowned and asked, “Why no open? Nina here.”

William laughed helplessly.

He knew Benjamin was doing it on purpose, but he couldn’t tell Nina that-she’d only get more

upset.

When they got along, they were inseparable. When they didn’t, Nina smacked Benjamin with her tiny hands, and Benjamin locked her outside.

William had no idea what to do about it.

He just smiled at her, “Forget him. Let’s go eat pies. How many can you eat, Nina?”

Nina blinked and patted her tummy.

William asked, “What’s five? Show Grandpa five fingers.”

Nina laughed and held up both hands.

William cleared his throat.

He said, “Let’s just eat pies. You eat lots to get strong and smart, okay?”
