Holt crashed through the wall of the council hall Dust billowed everywhere, and for a long moment, there was no movement.
I didn’t know if he was too ashamed to face me and simply chose not to get up, or if the backlash from betraying the Moon Goddess’s bond had weakened him so much that he couldn’t withstand my strength. Either way, I didn’t care.
Even if he died right in front of me, I wouldn’t shed a single tear.
I shifted into my wolf form and sprinted toward my courtyard.
I was taking Pearl with me. We were going back to the Silvermoon Pack-back to my real home.
When I arrived at the courtyard, Pearl had already packed everything.
She lit up when she saw me. “Ms. Conlay, I’m all ready! Are we leaving now?”
I glanced at the belongings around us and nodded. “Yes. But there are a few more things we need to take.”
“What things?” Pearl blinked in confusion.
“Most of the furniture here was brought from my family home. Now that I’m leaving, I’m not leaving a single piece behind!”
“But Ms. Conlay, there’s no way the few of us can move all of that-”
“Ms. Conlay! We’re here! Mr. Songler sent us. Just tell us what you need!” a voice suddenly called out.
It was Sean Songler, Tobias’s grandson and a distant uncle of mine.
Behind him stood a group of grown men, all radiating Beta-level energy.
I didn’t bother with pleasantries. I asked them to help me move every piece of furniture bearing the Silvermoon crest. All of it had come with me from the Silvermoon Pack when I married into this family.
“Consider it done!” Sean replied.

With so many hands helping, things moved quickly. Before long, most of the items had been loaded onto the carriages. The den was nearly emptied. The Enclaws really didn’t have anything decent of their own.
When Elara discovered what was happening, she shrieked and wailed, cursing me as ungrateful, disloyal, petty, selfish, and jealous.
Sean was so furious he nearly burst a blood vessel. He roared back at her, “You dare to call Laila petty and jealous? Why don’t you talk about the shameful things you and your son have done? He left on their wedding day to go to war, came back and used his military achievements to take a second Luna, then tried to steal her fortune and her territory! Have you people no shame? After everything you’ve done, you still have the nerve to stand here crying? Aren’t you afraid that every werewolf Rydar will curse your names behind your
backs
“That fortune and that land were earned by the Conlays with their blood and their lives, all sc Laila could live without worry! Their spirits have barely gone cold, and you’re already trying to pick her bones clean and throw her out of the Ironclaw Pack! Disgusting! Absolutely shameless!”
His words were satisfying to hear. But I had no desire to look at these vile people any longer. “Seam, don’t waste your breath on them. Let’s just go. Take everything and go!”
Throughout all of this. Holt never appeared. I didn’t know if he was still unconscious.
Bun when everything was finally loaded onto the carriages and I was ready to leave for good. Holt showed up
He stood about 30 feet away, watching me colly.
