Bill, an Alpha captain known for his brute strength and stubborn streak, was already standing at the center of the field.

Several armored war wolves were gathered around him, and when they saw me, more than a few rolled their eyes.

Nita was being deliberately wicked, hiding my Alpha presence on purpose. She clearly wanted them to be shocked and to regret what they said about me.

“Military Officer Enrod, teach her a lesson! Let her learn that battlefield glory isn’t earned with a family name or a few tears!”

“Exactly! An Omega belongs in the rear den, no climbing over our brothers’ shoulders with merit bought by her father’s and brothers’ blood!”

The surrounding soldiers jeered.

Bill looked at me coldly. “Major General Conlay did you hear that?”

I nodded, then lifted my hand and tied my long hair back.

Nita bounced eagerly within my mind.

Once I was set, Bill frowned, his eyes filling with something complicated.

“Major General,” he said again, deliberately softening his tone, though the condescension still leaked through. “If you concede now and leave the field, you can at least preserve the last shred of dignity for General Conlay’s family. I respect your father since he was a true hero. I don’t want people to sigh one day and say his daughter only ever lay atop the family’s merit ledger.”

“Are you done?”

When he fell silent, I rolled my shoulders and flexed my fingers.

Bill’s brow furrowed tighter, anger flaring in his eyes. “You really want to fight me?”

He stepped back half a pace and raised his guard. “Fine. Then don’t blame me for being rough. But…” he paused, “since you’re just an Omega, I won’t even use my wolf form.”

“Then I really should thank you for your ‘gentlemanly restraint.”

I smiled coldly and charged straight at him.

No tricks. No flourish. Just a single, direct punch thrown with everything I had.

I wanted a contest of pure strength-one that would leave him with nothing to argue.

Bill understood instantly and swung back with full force.

The moment our fists collided, both our Alpha energies detonated outward.

The shockwave sent dust and grit spiraling into the air.

Bill’s expression shifted from disdain to disbelief.

“You…”

He barely got the sound out before coughing up a mouthful of blood.

It splattered onto the ground.

The soldiers watching went wide-eyed, their breathing quickening.

They felt it. My Alpha energy.

And they felt that Bill hadn’t held back at all.

In the deathly silence. I slowly lowered my hand and looked at Bill calmly. “Do you want to

continue?”

Bill’s face had gone paper-white.

After a long moment, he finally found his voice. “N-no need… I lost.”

He’d lost fast and admitted it just as fast.

What I hadn’t expected was for him to drop to one knee and slam his clenched fist against his chest, hard.

“I lost!”

His voice rang out clearly. “I was blind. Major General Conlay lives up to her name!

“From today on, I, Bill Enrod, will obey Major General Conlay’s command without question!”

His eyes shone as he looked at me, as if to say, So, this is the blood of the Conlays.
