My Alpha Wants Two Lunas I'm Done novel Chapter 6

Laila's POV:

I met the Alpha King's eyes. My nails dug deep into my palms, but I couldn't feel any pain.

"Yes."

My voice was surprisingly steady. Even I was shocked.

He stared at me for a long time. It felt like he was weighing a tiny spark to see if it was strong enough to start a fire.

Finally, he leaned back in his throne, and the heavy pressure around him eased just a bit.

"Alright. I agree. The order will be sent to Holt in a few days."

"Thank you, Your Majesty!"

A huge weight lifted off my chest, and suddenly, I couldn't stop the tears from falling.

After a moment of silence, I heard a soft sigh.

"Laila," the Alpha King said, his voice no longer stiff or cold. There was something warmer, almost gentle. "If anyone bullies you, you can always come to the palace."

"Thank you, Your Majesty."

"Laila!"

"I said I didn't!"

I couldn't stand listening to him anymore. I cut him off, my heart aching. "Your wedding is still happening exactly as planned!"

Holt let out a huge breath of relief. His fangs retracted. He said coldly, "Great. This marriage is something I earned with my battle achievements. You have no right to get in the way. This is your last warning, Laila. Remember what I'm saying. I love Maris. I've never loved a woman like this before. I will marry her."

"Okay. I get it."

I nodded. I could feel his emotions through the mark. I knew he was telling the truth.

"My mating ceremony with Maris is in two months. Until then, stay quiet and don't cause trouble."

Holt gave that final warning and turned to leave.

But Pearl suddenly ran after him, screaming in rage, "Alpha, you'll regret this! General Duffy is just a Beta! Ms. Conlay is way stronger! She's the real Alpha—"
