Chapter 647
“Are you… seriously expecting me to keep wearing this?” Lydia whispered, disbelief clear in her voice as she walked with something still inside her.
“What do you think?” Cale shot her a teasing glance, his arm slipping around her waist in an affectionate hold. “Should I increase the intensity, my love?”
“Cale!”
Cale laughed, clearly amused by the way her face flushed-caught somewhere between embarrassment and something far more dangerous. But he was certain of one thing: that color rising to her cheeks had everything to do with what she was feeling right
now.
By the time they reached the lobby, Andrew was already waiting. He approached them promptly, informing them that the car was ready to take them wherever they wished to go that night.
“Is there anywhere you’d like to visit, Mr. and Mrs. Miller?” Andrew asked politely, gesturing for them to get into the car.
“You can ask my wife, Andrew. She’s in charge tonight,” Cale said, barely holding back a smile.
Lydia shot him a sharp look. She carefully lowered herself into her seat, trying to appear composed despite how… difficult that was. The device inside her hummed steadily, but every small movement only made it more impossible to ignore.
“No,” Lydia answered, forcing her tone to remain steady. “Let’s just go back to the hotel.”
Andrew blinked in mild surprise. Earlier, she’d been so eager to visit one place after another. But now? Perhaps the evening had simply worn her out. There was always tomorrow to explore the city.
Beside her, Cale leaned in slightly, his voice dropping into a teasing murmur. “I’m curious… what it looks like down there.” His gaze flickered toward Lydia’s tightly pressed legs. “Can’t you open them just a little for me?”
“Cale!” Lydia hissed, her hands curling into fists.
How could he say something like that-here, of all places? In the car, with Andrew and the driver right there. What if they heard? Or worse-
“I’m just asking.” Cale chuckled, leaning back into his seat as if nothing was wrong. He casually instructed Andrew to head back to the hotel, just as Lydia had requested. One of his hands slipped into his pocket and—
“-ugh!”
“Mrs. Miller?” Andrew turned slightly, concern flashing across his face. “Is something wrong?”
“N-no, nothing,” Lydia replied quickly, shooting Cale a sharp glare. “Nothing’s wrong, Andrew.” She forced herself to sit still, even though it was nearly impossible. “Could you drive a little faster? We’d like to get back to the hotel soon.”
“Of course,” Andrew answered, still puzzled. What exactly was going on? Lydia looked restless, her face flushed, almost as if she were in discomfort-but… never mind. It was better not to overthink it.
Besides, whatever it was-her husband was right there beside her.
The car sped through the Berlin night, city lights streaking across the windows like ribbons of moving gold. Inside, the atmosphere had turned unmistakably tense. No one spoke.
But Cale, for his part, had been holding back a smile the entire time.
From the corner of his eye, he watched Lydia-watched the way she shifted restlessly in her seat, trying and failing to appear composed.
Every so often, Lydia let out a quiet breath, her teeth catching her lower lip as she tried to push back the sensations tightening

around her. It wasn’t comfortable-far from it-and yet…
“Why is this taking so long?” she murmured under her breath.

She straightened her posture, fingers lacing together in her lap. She forced herself to look ahead, occasionally glancing out the window as if the passing city could distract her.
But her breathing…
wasn’t entirely steady.
Beside her, Cale lounged comfortably, one arm draped along the back of the seat. His gaze flickered toward her now and then- not obvious, but enough to catch every subtle reaction she tried so hard to hide.
“Be a little patient,” he said lightly. “Or… are you really that eager already?”
Lydia didn’t turn to him right away. “I’m enjoying the view. I was only asking how much longer it’ll take.”
“Is that so?” Cale raised a brow.
Lydia frowned, clearly annoyed-but the flush spreading across her face betrayed her completely. (1
“You look like someone who’s trying very hard to hold something back.”
Lydia turned to him quickly. “I’m not holding anything back.”
Cale didn’t argue. He simply gave a small nod, as if accepting her answer-though it was obvious he didn’t believe a word of it.
“Alright,” he said casually. “If that’s what you say.”
Silence fell between them again, heavier this time.
Lydia bit her lower lip once more, trying to steady her breathing. She refused to give Cale the satisfaction of seeing her react- refused to lose to a game she had recognized from the very beginning.
But her body…
wasn’t entirely cooperating.
She shifted slightly in her seat again, searching for some kind of comfort that never quite came,
Cale watched her, longer this time. “Still planning to resist it? Wouldn’t it be easier to just enjoy it?” he asked softly.
Lydia closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again. “You’re not going to stop teasing me, are you?”
“Of course not,” Cale replied, completely unapologetic.
Lydia let out a quiet breath. “You’re really insufferable.”
