Chapter 757
“Damn it,” Cale muttered as he wiped the blood from the corner of his split lip.
His gaze swept over the men lying helpless on the floor one by one. Some of them had already passed out, covered in bruises, broken bones, and injuries left behind by his fists.
Even under pressure, they stayed stubbornly loyal. Not one of them was willing to reveal who had sent them to kidnap Naomi.
But Cale already knew. These men worked for Don Falcon. And he would not let this go.
But before that…
“Naomi.”
Cale’s voice sounded far rougher than usual. Not because he was angry, but because he was holding back something much worse.
The moment the last intruder was subdued, his hand immediately pulled Naomi toward him. The narrow corridor was still filled with the sound of guards rushing closer, but Cale’s focus remained entirely fixed on the girl in front of him.
“Where are you hurt?”
Naomi didn’t even have time to answer before both of Cale’s hands were already checking her shoulders, arms, and face in hurried movements. His touch was rough and rushed, as though he was terrified of finding more blood on her body.
“I-I’m fine,” Naomi said, her voice trembling badly. “Mr. Miller, your arm is hurt.”
Cale didn’t listen at all.
His eyes swept over Naomi once more.
Her wrist had turned red from being grabbed earlier. The skin on her palms was scraped raw, and her hair was slightly disheveled. But aside from that, there were no serious injuries.
Only after confirming that did Cale finally breathe a little easier. And that was exactly when Naomi started crying. The tears fell uncontrollably.
All the tension she had been suppressing since the lights went out, the terror, the brutal fight, all of it crashed into her at once now. And the more she looked at the blood dripping from Cale’s arm, the tighter her chest felt.
“We need to go to the hospital,” Naomi said quickly as she grabbed his injured arm with trembling hands. “Your wound is deep.”
“It’s nothing.”
“You’re still bleeding!”
“I said it’s nothing!”
Cale’s voice rose sharply. Naomi immediately fell silent in shock. Suddenly, the corridor felt much colder. Cale pulled the phone from his pocket, his expression dark and furious.
“I’m in the back corridor. Pick us up and clean up this damn mess,” he said coldly into the phone.
At first, Naomi wanted to speak again, but she stopped herself. She was afraid of making him even angrier. Again and again, she tried to suppress her sobs, but what had just happened had shaken her completely.
Cale closed his eyes briefly, as though forcing himself to regain control over his emotions. When he opened them again, his gaze remained sharp, though slightly calmer now.
“You were almost dragged out of this building tonight,” he said in a low voice. “So don’t cry over a wound like this.”

Naomi bit her lip hard to hold back another sob.
“You got hurt because of me…”
That sentence made Cale’s jaw tighten again. He stared at Naomi for several seconds too long before finally exhaling roughly. Just as he was about to say something, the car Liu was driving pulled up in front of them.
One of the guards opened the car door and quickly ushered both Naomi and Cale inside, while the others immediately began cleaning up the chaos left behind in the corridor.
Inside the car, Liu informed them that Lydia was safe with Daniel and that they would be picking her up shortly. His gaze also drifted toward Cale’s injury, and once again he suggested going to the hospital first.
But once again, Cale refused.
“Instead of worrying about my wound, you should be worrying about something else.”
Liu immediately understood what Cale meant.
“I’ve been following the information from Mr. Brandon,” Liu replied carefully, “but some things don’t add up.”
“Keep digging. Focus the investigation on Zhao Hua. I’m certain they’re connected.”
“Yes, Mr. Cale,” Liu answered obediently.
The car continued moving steadily until they reached the point where Lydia and Daniel were already waiting.
