My ex husband wants me back (Daven and Althea) novel Chapter 793

Dinner that evening was far livelier than usual.

For the first time since Naomi’s arrival in Sun City, every member of the Miller family was gathered around the same dining table. Nathan and Riana sat in their usual seats. Daven and Althea were on the left side of the table with Chase, who sat in a special toddler chair. Beside them, Cale and Lydia sat quietly.

Meanwhile, Chris sat not far from Nathan. Josh, Grace, and Eli were on the same side as Chris.

At first, Naomi had refused to join them for dinner, but... she had promised Grace that she would try the salmon steak prepared by the Miller family’s head chef that evening. It was Grace’s favorite dish. And when Naomi arrived, Grace had asked her to sit beside her. There was no way Naomi could refuse, right?

Even so, Naomi seemed quieter than everyone else. Her mind was still occupied with the conversation from earlier that afternoon; about the Devereux family, the will that had been left behind, and the marriage that had suddenly been presented as a solution to a problem she still did not fully understand.

At least this time, however, Naomi was making an effort to adjust. Occasionally, she answered Grace’s questions. Sometimes she laughed when Josh and Chris argued about a basketball game they never seemed to stop discussing.

And little by little, the atmosphere around her began to feel lighter and more enjoyable.

Althea’s voice suddenly drew almost everyone’s attention in the dining room to her, simply because she asked, “So... was there a problem at the office?”

Daven, who had just taken a spoonful of soup, quickly shook his head.

“Did something bad happen?” Nathan asked, looking at Daven with concern despite how calm he appeared.

“No, Dad. And there’s nothing to worry about, sweetheart.”

“Are you sure?” Althea asked, frowning.

“Yes.” Daven flashed a broad smile.

“But I feel like you look like someone who’s hiding something.” Althea narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

Daven appeared to think for a few seconds before calmly setting down his spoon. “I am thinking about something.”

“What is it?” Althea grew even more curious. She hoped it was not something that would drag their family into another major problem.

“It’s actually not a big deal.”

“Then what is it?” Riana cut in. The woman seemed impatient because Daven was acting suspiciously. Ever since he had gone after Chris and Cale, he had not returned. And no one had brought up whatever discussion had taken place. So now? What had happened this time?

Daven leaned back in his chair. “How about we go camping this weekend?”

The dining table immediately fell silent for several seconds.

“Camping?” Lydia asked in disbelief. She blinked repeatedly in confusion, but when she turned toward her husband, Cale merely shrugged.

Grace immediately jumped to her feet. “CAMPING?!”

The little girl’s voice finally made everyone laugh.
