“It’s not that.” Chris chose to lean back against the chair for a moment.
“Then what is it?” Naomi pressed.
For some reason, she was very impatient tonight. Normally, Naomi did not care much about things like this, but it seemed that this was influenced by the brief dream she had while accidentally falling asleep earlier.
Chris, who had originally been with her in a crowded place filled with members of the Devereux family, had left her behind because a woman named Felicia appeared. And because of the man’s actions, Naomi became involved in a much bigger problem.
Fortunately... it was only a dream.
That did not mean Chris was not allowed to be with another woman, it was just that...
“You should go back to sleep,” Chris cut in as he moved to leave.
“You’re avoiding my question.” Naomi stared at Chris intently.
For quite a while, Chris said nothing. He only looked at the girl still sitting on the edge of her bed. For some reason, Naomi was being exceptionally stubborn tonight. Usually, she would grumble a few times and then change the subject. But not tonight.
“Why do you want to know so badly about Felicia?” Chris finally asked.
Naomi fell silent for a moment.
At first, she thought the question would be easy to answer. As silly as it sounded, telling him about the dream she had just had in her sleep should not have been a big deal, right?
But the more she thought about it, the harder it became to explain her reason without sounding strange.
But Naomi still chose to be honest. “Because I don’t like it.”
Chris raised an eyebrow. “Don’t like it? Why?”
“The situation.”
“What situation?” Chris was genuinely confused now.
