“Did you do something wrong? Partnering with a garbage enterprise like the Sterling Group was a mistake from the start! Don’t you know your own worth? Get lost! Don’t let me see you again, you morons!”
Sean’s disdain and contempt infuriated Harrison. To be humiliated like this! He clenched his fists, almost unable to stop himself from swinging.
Thomas quickly grabbed his arm. If Harrison actually threw a punch, they would be truly finished.
“Dad, why is he acting so high and mighty? He used to kiss up to us, and now he’s this vile!” Harrison fumed.
Thomas sighed. “Who knows? People change at the drop of a hat. Sean Maddox is incredibly moody.”
Just as the father and son were talking, they spotted Elena.
“Elena? What are you doing here? Are you stalking us?” Harrison demanded sharply.
Elena hadn’t expected to run into these two dispensers of bad luck.
When Elena simply stared at them in silence, Harrison felt the need to assert himself.
“Elena, is it because your biological parents are too poor and you can’t survive there? Did you follow us here to beg for money?”
Elena suppressed her anger, her face remaining impassive. “You’re overthinking it.”
She turned to leave, but Harrison stepped in front of her.
Elena raised her eyes to meet his. “Get the hell out of my way. Move.”
“You... Elena, who do you think you are? You ate the Sterling family’s food for years, and I haven’t even asked you to pay us back. I was your older brother, yet you speak to me like that!”
“Brother? You? Do you think you’re worthy?” Elena shot him a look of icy contempt.
“You...”
Seeing the argument escalating, Thomas quickly intervened. “Enough, Harrison. Why bother arguing with her? She’s not part of our family anymore!”
