A moment later, Jane Whelan walked into the room. Upon seeing Sean, she stopped dead in her tracks, momentarily mesmerized.
She hadn't seen him in so long, it felt like an eternity.
"What do you want?" Sean asked.
Jane snapped out of her daze, collecting her thoughts. "Mr. Maddox, you've recovered?"
"Yes," Sean replied coolly.
He sat gracefully by the floor-to-ceiling window, the warm sunlight spilling over his frame.
It bathed him in a golden halo, making him look almost ethereal. He appeared every bit the aloof, aristocratic prince.
"Mr. Maddox, I'm actually here to ask about the termination of the contract with NovaTech Electronics. Why did it happen? I wasn't given any prior notice before the partnership was completely severed."
Sean turned his head, his gaze sweeping over her with total indifference.
During his hospitalization, Elena had taken over all corporate decisions for him.
He hadn't been involved in the company's affairs at all.
In truth, he didn't even know they had terminated the contract with NovaTech Electronics.
But he assumed Elena simply didn't like them.
Since Elena made the call, he would back her up without hesitation.
"Really?" Sean's voice was sharp. "Do I need to notify you for dropping a small factory?"
"I... I didn't mean it like that," Jane stammered, suddenly flustered.
There was something overwhelmingly oppressive about Sean's aura. He had only raised his voice slightly, but she felt like she was suffocating.
Normally, if Sean shut her down like this, she would have immediately dropped the subject.
But Old Mrs. Whelan had explicitly ordered her to find out the truth, so she had to force herself to push forward.
"Mr. Maddox, I just want to understand the reason behind the termination. To be honest with you, the general manager of NovaTech Electronics is my uncle, Edward... so..."
