She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 303

Pain and terror shattered him. He sobbed so hard he couldn’t breathe right. “The bridge—upper deck, very front. There’s a metal stairway. Three people in there.”

“Good.”

Loyce’s expression didn’t change. Her finger tightened.

“Thump.”

The shot was muffled under the engine’s thunder. His head slumped sideways, a neat hole blooming between his brows.

She turned to the explosive. With a quick inspection, her brow lifted—recognition. Same make as the crude device that had once been strapped under Lucian’s car. Planted right by the fuel system. If it went off, the whole ship would vanish in a fireball.

Loyce grabbed wire cutters from a tool bag, clipped the detonator line clean, yanked the device free, and tossed it into a nearby bucket like it was scrap.

On her way out of the lower compartments, she noticed the drainage piping along the corridor. She stopped, smashed a glass case, and pulled out a fire axe. Then she hacked the pipe open with one hard swing. Water exploded out, gushing across the floor. She dropped the axe and walked away without looking back.

The system immediately flagged the flooding to the bridge. The captain barked to his first mate, “Lower hold one is taking on water. Go check it.”

The mate nodded and headed out.

Loyce was already waiting along his route, standing in the seam between light and shadow. As he passed and exposed his back, she moved—light, precise—springing up behind him. Her hands locked his throat and jaw; one vicious twist, and his neck snapped.
